Now, on to the bio.......
Dog Latin was formed by ex-Leisure Class bassist Chris, many moons ago, with Ken Hottmann on bass, Tom Riss on drums, and Chris switching over to guitar and vox. Released a notorious 12" single containing two odd Christmas songs, which were played for years by Scott Campbell on his local music show, and by David Wisdom on CBC, who played it every year, till his show ended in the early 2000s. In recent years it has gotten airplay on WDET and WMFU.
After a long hiatus, the band was reformed in 2005 with Ken on bass again, XD Wei on erhu, and Chris on acoustic guitar/vox. Played to wildly appreciative crowds, till that line-up ran it's course. Since then there has been an ever-evolving, revolving cast of musicians and other co-conspirators, with McGorey and his jarring, caustic, out-in-left-field lyrics being the common factor.
The crowds are still wildly appreciative. Apparently people still appreciate a bit of musical originality and thought-provoking lyrics.
I woke up one morning and left for school to find my car had disappeared. The bad news: my Dog Latin CD was in the car. The good news: I have the CD back in my possession. The bad news: My new vehicle has no CD player. I just can't win. I've got the Royal Oak show in my calender.
Thanks for the comment, Senor Dog. Please excuse the major mistakes I made on the recording. I completely lost my place in the first song--even though I've played it a bazillion times. And then I did a key change in a new song way too early--so I abandoned it all together. Ha ha! I hope all is well in your world.
hi :) thanx for adding me ............ i'm so be happy............... how r u ? .......... i wish music and happiness full of days to you ............ so thanx again ................ kisses .........
Thanks a lot Chris. I like 'Careening' very much. It'd be great to make it back over there... I'm sure it'll happen, eventually. Take care of yourself, love from London, Robert
