The site is its own addiction. It is fun because I keep it fun, just the same way I do with my dog activities.
Dog Play Mall Dog Play Mall is hand picked stuff reflecting the philosophy and attitude of the Dog Play web site. It keeps me out of trouble and it lets me help in the way that I am able to help.

I write support documents for "help desk" analysts. I design and create support interfaces so that users can solve their own problems more productively. On project teams I ensure consideration of end user and support team needs.
I affiliate to products from CafePress that will appeal to my DogPlay website user base. I create my own products to reflect those value and make them available for affiliate sales.

I used to define myself in terms of my work: naturalist, park ranger, attorney, technical writer/knowledge worker.
Now I tend to define myself in terms of what I do: playing with my dogs, dog sports, creating and maintaining websites (primarily DogPlay and Dog Play Mall (plus a bunch for non-profits or friends), designing and selling things through CafePress.
The primary goal of my website DogPlay is to help dogs keep their homes. I do this by getting people involved with their dogs, by motivating them to learn more about dogs and socialize with others who understand dogs, and by providing resources on the breeding decision, choosing a source for a dog, fighting BSL, and providing behavior resources.
I'm basically an introvert, though I do like to be helpful so I try to practice social skills from time to time.
My best skill is taking complicated information and translating it so most people understand it. Trying to write up a resume that explains what I do best is tough. I'm jack-of-all-trades. The rest of the phrase is "master of none" which is literally true, but doesn't quite give the picture. I'm very skilled in many areas - but not necessarily expert. It is a matter of perspective. If you aren't familiar with "regular expressions" or html or graphics programs then what I do looks impressive. If you are an expert in those areas you will know that I'm not. But I'm very fast at picking up enough of a new skill to accomplish an important task. And I'm very fast at seeing the big picture so I give proper value on project teams. And in my book, teamwork is critical. People have to work together, whether it is for your business, or protecting our companion animals.
Who I'd like to meet: ... the idiots who start internet Hoaxes and show them the error of their ways. Latest one to hit my inBox is the infamous MySpace J_Neutron07 virus Hoax. YO!
Hey Diane -- just stopping by to say hi! Also, wonder if you could take a look at my herding test video on myspace. What do you think, should we pursue it?
