Sounds Like
Purveyors of the amphetamine driven torch song and a blend of the erotic and the neurotic, they sound as Jacques Brel would have done, had he owned a Les Paul and a fuzz box.
Delivering chunky melodies and suburban angst Dogstand have in their own way built up quite a reputation for creating thoughtful pop tunes for the Prozac generation.
They write cynical, angry, sad tunes with pathos and humour swathed in appealing melodies.
Carli was recently likened to a cross between Faye Fife, Poly Styrene and Lulu on acid. right then...
Main tunesmith Graeme Martin is a refugee from pre Brit-poppers BUM! Lead guitarist Paul Langford brings a wealth of experience to the group.
Upon her arrival, one time Circus of Horrors chainsaw illusionist, Carli complements the sound with a heady combination of honking sax, tuneful melodies and a fair bit of shouting, while vintage keyboard maestro and stylophone specialist Leo joins and completes the line-up.
Drums by a hairy urchin known only as Dirty Boy.
You know how everyone's always going "look at me! listen to my shit!" etc... well...ahem...
I've done five new recordings which are now 'up' on my page, ready for your ears. Two of these feature extra vocals from Claire Lemmon (Sidi Bou Said/Cardiacs)

Cardiacs Fans (and the musically open-minded)... Read my latest blog. It sort of doubles up as a bit of a begging session for places to crash during the forthcoming tour.
But more exciting than that, it also outlines the plans for My Next Book...
Oh my word- a whole day of my life has been spent on this. And for what? Dunno really, but it makes ME happy...
So, go along to MyPics, Cardiacs lovers, and take a peek into the album "Cardiacs Collectables and Memorabilia" where you will find in addition to all those record and CD covers, a whole host of YOUsletters and Cardiacs communications, tickets, flyers, a badge, a guest pass/list or two, set lists, and the hand-written Belch Cardiacs Gig List (yep, all 90 of them), fully annotated...
Study it carefully, then add a coment if you were at a gig and I failed to mention you in the "Also In Attendance" column...
