Three rules for enjoying DollhouseX music. First rule, lights off! Second rule, you must be a magical creature (if you need explination on this, you are not one). Final rule, Enjoy!
Bio: For me this goes beyond creating what I wish was in the musical marketplace. It is about expression, being fully true to my whole self all at once. No one can do that in one song so they keep coming.
Maybe it is my love of good old fashioned rock and roll. My first attempts into the 'band realm' semed to revolve around Ozzy Osbourne. My first audition piece was 'Lord of this World'. As luck would have it I found a bandmate with all the equipment we needed who happened to have just moved away from a working Ozzy tribute band. Add a few friends and it was an instant party. However that wasn't enough, inspiration was somehow missing.
A few incarnations later I was working off a vocal fever inspired by Diamanda Galas. This caused me to create 'Lillith'. This was great I got a chance to play open for some legendary folks like Eva O, Thanatos and Trance to the Sun.
The somehow funny part was, there I was wailing away to this etherial music and then in between sets dancing in a fury to Skinny Puppy or Leaether Strip. I wanted my music to cause the same reaction.
Fast forward time, before Gwen Stephani did the whole 'Harjuku' thing, I was on a search for some new scene territory, music, fashion, and outlook. I ended up joining the Black Lolita yahoo group (no longer around, but huge at the time). Joy upon joy I found all the inspiration I could stand, including a band called Malice Miser. I wanted to do something that could appeal to Mana's (the lead singer) audience yet still keep true to my roots in the scene. DollhouseX as a concept was born.
In fact before I had the music I had the domain address. Had a few names and concepts that I was kicking around but nothing that seemed to be a complete idea. I went home that night and at 3am completed the vocals to five songs I had bouncing around on the computer. I was ready to go.
Currently I have two D.I.Y. albums in the marketplace and all my videos I produced myself. I am very proud my approach. What is the point of even spending one dime on packaging or studio time if you can't build an audience with the music and the concept? This music has been featured on the NYC radio show "the shape of things to come", DollhouseX has played Fetishcon in Tampa in 2005, and a steady stream of gigs (including Orlando's 2005-06 V-vests, and Atlanta's Nophest) keep me evaluating what the audience wants and weaving that into what I like and what I want to challange myself to do. You might find me out there with backround singers/musicians and dancers (like Orlando's Anti-babe Fetish troupe) or you may find me just wailing away, that is how I 'roll' everyday a new adventure. My message: challange yourself.
Hello how are you? I just wanted to let you know that I have just finished producing a yoga, meditation & relaxation album titled “Surrender of The Mind”
Surrender of The Mind is written for those of us who need to get away. Maybe we have had a tough day at work. Maybe we have studied hard. Maybe we need to reflect on certain events in our lives. Maybe we just need a moment to clear our minds and re-set our mental strength. No matter what the reason is, there comes a time when we all need to surrender our minds.
This album takes you on a musical journey like no other. Capturing the ancient sounds of panpipes, tabla, bells, sitar and many other ambient resonances for those who wish to achieve a higher state of consciousness, greater focus and self-awareness through yoga & meditation, or simply to accomplish a more relaxed and peaceful state of mind.
I have attached a mini player for you to listen to a sample of the album so just press play to get away from this mad world we are living in.
The full version of Surrender of The Mind is available on all download sites including iTunes and Amazon.
Please let me know what you think of it, I look forward to your reply.
