Doll Squad has reformed as a new band for 2008. If Patty Schemel and/or Cathy Watson can make it back for a reunion show this year we will do one or two shows with them. At any rate, look for a newly reconstituted version of the band to play sometime in the summer with a mix of old and new tunes!

Sweet, Redd Kross, Go-Gos, X, The Clash, Joan Jett, Bangles, Runaways, Sonny & Cher
Sounds Like
Redd Kross meets the Partridge Family.
Here we are covering another Seattle 80's band, The Allies:
Doll Squad was formed by Helen & Mara after they performed together in a loose-knit group of musicians called "The Corn Dogs." They decided that they needed to form a rock band, and they were determined to find an all-female line-up. Cathy was the first person they found, followed by Patty, who was suggested to us by drummer Bon Von Wheelie of Girl Trouble. Annette was the last ingredient we needed to create our rock & roll monster. The band was together from 1987 - 1989, and in that time we appeared on the Spud Goodman Show, and in two straight to video movies - "Rock & Roll Mobster Girls" (which also features Girl Trouble, Cat Butt, Scott McCoughey, Jeff Simmons, and Jim Rose), and "Attack of the Hideo-Poid." An excerpt from "R&R Mobster Girls" featuring Helen is also in the movie Hype. We were the featured band at the Vogue for a Subpop Sunday, and we shared the bill with Nirvana at the Central Tavern (a show they showed up for, but decided not to play due to sparse attendance). Our very first show was at our friend Jim May's wonderful venue - the Community World Theater in Tacoma, with Girl Trouble and Cat Butt. Patty went on to play drums for such notable bands as Kill Sybil, Hole, and Juliette Lewis & the Licks. Helen (now known as Miss Hell'N) used to sing & play in Los Peligrosos. Mara still sings & occasionally performs with her husband Carl Funk, formerly of the Allies. More photos & possibly more songs will be posted here in the future.
Doll Squad re-formed in 2008 with original members Mara, Annette & Helen. They have been joined by Mike Soldano on lead guitar, and Rich Evans on drums. They have played three shows in 2008, and look forward to doign a few more in 2009. Stay tuned!
Doll Squad would like to thank everyone who has come out to see our reunion shows in 2008. We're having a blast!
