Dolphin Safe was conceived as the writer/singer of a punk band, Joey Safe, kept writing rather unpunk lyrics. From there it grew out of his bedroom late at night, shreds of relationships becoming pieces of something more.
The name reflects the hypocrisy of America and the world, the obsession with beauty, and a tree-hugging animal-friendly philosophy. And the music keeps hold of its punk-band roots, never stopping short of complete, and brutal, honesty.
