Domesticide started in the Spring of 2003 as a "side-project" for members of the Eugene-based bands Piker and Sullen.
Sullen's Pat Wombacher and Terry Geil(both formerly of NW Death Metal stalwarts, Victims Of Internal Decay) joined forces with Piker's Kevin Warren to form a 3-piece grindcore band.
Once writing and rehearsals began, they realized this could NOT remain a "side-project". Kevin recruited fellow Piker member Ryan Rook to solidify the line-up, and the foundation of Domesticide was laid.
More than 4 years later, they are still tearing up the NW Metal scene. They have released two self-produced demos(2004's "What Would Satan Do?" and 2005's "Corporation") and one full length cd.
They entered the studio on July 21st of 2006, to record their full-length debut, at Central Node Productions, in Eugene. "Good Is Dead" hit the stores on February 6th 2007, 2007, and is available in many locations. Check out this myspace page for where to find it.
They hit the road in December '06, on a DIY mini-tour down through Northern California, playing in Concord and Fremont, among other places.
In March of 2007, Ryan Rook decided to leave the band. His last show was March 17th at Rock-n-Roll Pizza in Portland. Enter Phil Golding of the powerhouse speed-metal outfit Drosera. He learned a 35 minute set in 2 weeks with nothing more than the cd and tuning specifications. He played his first show with Domesticide on Friday, April 13th. He is now a full-time member of the band.
Domesticide are currently unsigned and are in negotiations with several labels, trying to secure a deal. They need someone to help them in their quest to bring their music to the masses.
Last year they recorded 2 tracks for the upcoming CNP release, The Black Comp Vol. II. The unmixed versions can be found here on this site.
At the beginning of 2008, Domesticide received a pummelling punch in the balls, when founding member Pat Wombacher decided to quit the band, leaving them with no drummer. So now they have Kevin switching over to drums. Seems to be the natural thing to do. He's an awesome drummer and he already knows all the songs. Now they just need to find a bassist. If you think you have what it takes(read blog), hit them up here. In the meantime, Terry, Kevin & Phill will be writing the new record, as they continue their search for a bass player.
Check out their website, www.domesticide.com, for news, merchandise, etc. When they get back up and running, you can check Domesticide out live quite frequently in their hometown of Eugene at such venues as, the Wow Hall, John Henry's, Samurai Duck, Wetlands, etc. Occasionally they will trek north to Portland, Seattle, etc....
A West Coast Tour is imminent! They must support the new record! So watch for them in your town soon!
