| General | Reading. Writing. Debating. Chess. (Think you can beat me? You probably can. And, if not, for shame.)
| | Music | John Williams. | | Movies | Star Wars (especially 2, 3, and 5). The Dark Knight. The Hunt for Red October. Terminator 2. And no, I did not leave "Transformers" off the list. That movie is dreadful. | | Television | I watch little enough TV, as much of what little I do watch makes me despair for the prospects of this country. | | Books | I generally prefer non-fiction. "American Empire" by Andrew Bacevich, "See No Evil" by Robert Baer, "From Beruit to Jerusalem" by Tom Friedman, "Branded Conservatives" by Ken Cosgrove (an old professor of mine), "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu, anything by Ralph Peters (NeoCon thinkers are worth understanding, if not agreeing with).
I suppose this is as good a place as any to point out that I am a semi-regular reader of "The Atlantic", "The New York Times", and various other publications.
I also read fiction. Examples: "Primary Colors" by Joe Klein (writing as "Anonymous"). "Last Hurrah" by Ed O'Connor. The "Horus Heresy" books (various authors) are truly amazing.
And, yes, I also read comics. The late Mark Gruenwald's run on "Captain America" in the 1980s is a masterwork, as is his "Squadron Supreme". Michelinie on "Iron Man" is similarly brilliant. Jim Starlin's various "Infinity ________" series. Everybody who is interested in comics should read "Crisis on Infinite Earths", if only for George Perez's art. Early issues of Marvel's "Transformers" run are sadly under-rated. Giffen and co on "Eclipso" and "Ambush Bug". Grant Morrison on "All Star Superman".

About me:
I am an aspiring teacher and writer living in the Boston area. At the moment, I am working in education, helping some truly inspiration students with their academic careers. Every so often, I pick up some work as a reporter in and around Boston, but my real creative dream is to write comics. (What?!?!?! What?!!?!? Bah. Screw you.)
Aside from my name, which is an alias, the information on this page is more or less accurate.
