The Police meets Goldfinger and they have lunch together with Sublime, Three Eleven and Men at Work.
Two insightful musicians sat down one day, simply contemplating the wonderful inscrutability of life and music. Their thoughts incidentally alighted on one of their buddies, he also a proficient musician.
Eventually the inexorable tides of fate brought the three together, thus creating the magic that is Dominion Status. The fact that life is multifaceted, just like the peaceful ocean that becomes raging and tempestuous when in a storm. So also should human emotion be expressed through the freedom of music. The purpose of Dominion Status is to interpret true feeling and emotion, by application of the venerable medium of modern Rock Music. Dereck Blackman takes you on a phantasmagorical excursion, exploring enchanted valleys of soulful, emotive Lead Vocals, and tasty Guitar Licks. Kevin Smith/ John Mc Knight, on Bass possesses the ability (by incorporating incessant, infectious Bass lines) to compel you to get up and shake your ass. Josh Schreiber on drums, like a clever magician, can formulate a formidable potion, consisting of potent drum beats, that will make you giddy with glee. The musical ecstacy ingested through your ear hole, will translate you to a rarefied plain of perpetual euphoria.
The debut CD from this exciting trio entitled "THE BLAME GAME" is a genre integrating work of art, that is ambiguously astonishing and fulfilling. Eventually landing a nomination in the 2003 Orange County Music Awards. It engages the essential elements and aspects, of various styles of music, to create a tapestry of sound that will incite you to inevitably seek rehabilitation from it's enchanting grip.
Their sophomore effort entitled "Orgonon" released in 2005, continues to push the envelope of edginess to an ice cold ether of Ska, Reggae, Punk Rockness. Their latest effort entitled "Fear & Loathing In The O.C." has already begun to create wide spread panic, and is a perfect perpetuation of the Dominion Status brand.
If you are ready to deviate from the mundane, take a permanent vacation, your attention and your imagination are required, Dominion Status is your ticket and your destination.
