Loved ones.
I write and perform everything else. A few songs are my first ever attempt at making a demo on a 4- track over Christmas 06. They should give some flavour but I'm aware they need to be polished. Others are first live recordings with a rare- practiced outfit of brilliant friends from the DUndee scene, incl: Elliot From The West (Bass/ additional guitars/ add. vocals), Big Jon The Baker's Son (Drums/ melodica/ Miffy xylophone), Cris Marr (percussion), Peter Cameron (Violin)

Influences
I have played alongside and been influenced by a great many musicians and writers in the past 2 years. I count myself lucky and am grateful to all of them for their influence. I am gaining a good reputation for single- handedly running good shows and ably supporting visiting acts to Dundee in unique settings. I am well repected in my own musical community without any baggage, bravado or bluster. I put on a mean raffle!

An excerpt from a review in IS THIS MUSIC for one of my shows "Opened by Mondo Mimo, the secret pseudonym of the event’s promoter, his acoustic lullabies were the perfect opener, a varied mix of pop and folk, blues and roots with lyrics that span the whole of Scotland. A wonderfully enthusiastic promoter, Mondo Mimo has done more than anyone else in the area to ensure that left field and acoustic talent gets heard alongside the inexorable tidal wave of wasted little View wannabes. Gold medal, that man." - Robin Murray

Hello. I'm Dominic. For a couple of years I called myself Mondo Mimmo and have now reclaimed my real name as a musician. I'm in the recording studio just now and hope to have something to give you soon.
I write and perform songs in the North East of Scotland. I make gigs happen so I can hear, see and perform with talented musicians. It works!
I started a night called STRIPPED AND WIRED in January 2007, monthly non- profit gigs aimed at bringing Acoustic and Electronic acts together, mostly from in and around the Dundee/ Perthshire/ Angus/ Fife areas but are keen to welcome those from further afield. It's now a growing collective of performers with shows encompassing photgraphy, films and spoken word alongside music. If you are interested in playing/ showing material please get in touch here or via the top friends link below. Top acts include Reporter, Cavanich, Kid Canaveral, The Laurel Tree, Egospastachrist and The Devotional Ensemble.
I used to host the ACOUSTIC SESSIONS at Dundee University Students' Association. Its is now finished. Highlights included Sam Isaac, Luke Leighfield, Pearl (of Pearl and The Puppets), Little Pebble, The Divine Pauline Meikleham, Steph McLeod, Spoon slide guitarist James Cumming and Etienne the unfeasibly talented sitarist!
I run a monthly show called ACOUSTIC CAFE (Dundee), which is between venues at present. More info soon. It attracts a wide range of people as an audience, all very appreciative of the talents and feeling of the evening. It has a focus on Scottish writers giving spoken word performances, as well as fine acoustic players. BORDERS Dundee sponsor the event which has already established a respectable reputation in its early days. Acts have included Ainslie Henderson, Martin Henry from De Rosa, Alan Bissett, Beerjacket, Rodge Glass, Tracey Herd, Ewan Morrison, Elliot From The West, Don Paterson, Alastair Artingstall, Luva Anna, Mr. Gavin McGinty. A complete sell- out for the mighty Martin Stephenson in November 08 cemented the show in the hearts and minds of the NE music lovers. I'd love to say hello at a gig. Drop me a line at acousticcafe08@gmail.com and come along to enjoy a good night.
Hi Dom. How are things? Quite appreciate the save the vowels sentiment but where do you stand on the humble apostrophe? Is a wee bit of spam OK whilst you think about that? :-)
Hi Dom, thanks for your feedback i really appreciate it! I'd be happy to play one such evening in Dundee or Fife, sounds really good. I see you got Don Paterson down ? I'm a massive fan so you must be doing something right! Just give me a shout when you have some dates in mind. All the best Davy
I guess other sound emitting devices might include a digital piano? At the moment I've got most of February free - just Saturday 13th in Inverness. Let me know and we can make plans.
is that the 23rd of this month? if so unfortunately i'm going to see Foy Vance open his wife's art exhibition in Aberfeldy. Gutted i would have loved to play. Any others coming up that i could add some low notes on?
Just been listening to your tunes, not played the guitar in ages, on like a sabbatical or something, but listen to your songs and got all inspired n all-loved it! We'll have to hook up real soon, now that we both live the same side or the Tay!

’’The Sunday Express (five stars) ***** It’s clear from the title track
that you are listening to something special with O’Connor’s second solo
album… It’s time for KT, Sandi and Amy to make room because this should
launch a new Scottish star into the charts. ’’
The Herald (four stars) **** ''O’Connor has one of the best voices
heard in Scotland in some time, and a set of fine songs to show it
off…''
The List (four stars) **** There is an unmistakable modern twist to her
music, and she flits effortlessly between, husky poppiness on the likes
of ‘Saturday Man’ to soulful stripped down and spine tingling.
