Do a good bit of traveling the last year or so but there's still loads of the world I want to see, but from where I've been Sydney, Barcelona and a couple of American cities are up there with my favourite spots. Ireland in the sun is still my favourite place to be though.
I'm lucky enough to play music in a band with some incredible musicians and I want to do it forever if I can.
Music
Generally speaking I'm open to almost everything. Love hearing new music (or old music that I missed at the time).
Loving a lot of Irish music at the moment in particular - Villagers (unreal), David Kitt, Jape, Bell X1, One Day International, Cathy Davey, Mick Flannery and Damien Dempsey all continue to make some of the best music around I reckon. Looking forward to hearing Gavin Glass's next installment and Rhob Cunningham (Our Little Secrets)'s first.
Albums - Right now Bon Iver's 'For Emma, Forever Ago' gets the most airtime on mypod (took me a while mind you), but all time favourites would probably be Paul Simon's 'Graceland' and David Kitt's 'The Big Romance'
Best Gig - Still Sigur Ros in The Olympia. Incredible. Just saw David Byrne for the second time though, hmmmm...
Best festival - Glastonbury 2007. Hands down the best vibe and up there with the best weekends I've ever had. 180,000 people in mud and they all just got it.
Other than that I've either heard incredible music either recorded or live by Elbow, Chet Baker, Wilco, Feist, Beirut, Bill Withers, Joanna Newsom, James Brown, LCD Soundsystem, Kings of Leon, The Frames, Ray Lamontagne, Burial, Stevie Wonder, Sufjan Stevens, Radiohead, Glenn Miller, Whitest Boy Alive, Andrew Bird, Iron and Wine, Battles, Frankie Valli, Joni Mitchell, Midlake, Bon Iver, Cat Power - I could go on and on, there's tons more I can't think of or don't know what is called..
I've always thought Lisa Hannigan to be one of the most talented vocalists and songwriters around, and more so than ever in recent times from the very fortunate position I've found myself in.
Movies
There Will Be Blood is the best movie I've seen in the last few years - incredible stuff. There hasn't been a thriller as good since Silence of the Lambs (although Seven was a close contender). Other than that I've a few favourite movies including Fight Club, The Wedding Singer, The Matrix, Twelve Angry Men (incredible), The Big Lebowski, Back to the Future, The Dancing Outlaw, Man on Wire, Anchorman, Old School, (and all things Will Ferrell), The Castle, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Caddyshack, The Blues Brothers, again I could go on forever, watching movies is something I enjoy a lot..
Television
I hate soaps.
Other than that its only Family Guy or South Park really I watch on the box. Maybe The Real Hustle if I come across it, some good lessons in that! Box sets of The Wire, Deadwood, The Office (UK one), Extras and Arrested Development are all savage. AND Paths to Freedom, hilarious.
Books
Not a great reader anymore. Last book I read that I couldn't put down was 'The Lovely Bones' I think written by Alice Sebold and that was a few years ago, and also 'The Dirt' about Motley Crue is as difficult to put down as it is to read.. Used to read Roald Dahl and Asterix & Tintin books as a kid every second I could, and would love to get some of that enthusiasm for reading back.

I'm in a good mood most of the time. Sure I've little to be complaining about. Although trying to get through busy crowds makes me irrationally angry.. it doesn't take me long to get over it though.
I open automatic doors with my mind just before I get to them, contrary to popular belief that its actually a sensor. When I get off the bus or train I'm not fully relaxed til I've washed my hands. When I'm in control of the volume on the TV or stereo, once it goes over level 15 its gotta be at a multiple of 5 (15, 20, 25...). I drink from the part of the glass or bottle directly over the logo, and the pint usually goes directly in the centre of the beermat (which is usually perfectly square to the table). I do honestly understand that the world won't end if any/all of these situations don't occur as above, I just prefer things that way. Most other things about me are normal. I think. Oh KitKats should be eaten biting two fingers at a time, not one.
Who I'd like to meet: Not all the usual heads that people say as I'd say they'd be disappointed about how little I know about them, so I guess whoever comes my way. And Will Ferrell, but at a chilled social gathering rather than on the street...
