Donahue Jarrett is an actor, singer and song-writer. Working with local artistes like Makonnen and Junior Reid, Cat Coore and Third World band, he has a style of his own.
Born and raised in Jamaica with intermittent stints in Europe and the U.S. where he served 4 years in the US Air Force and received the Air Force Achievement medal for meritorious service, he speaks Spanish fluently and speaks German, Italian and French conversationally. After returning to Jamaica from Spain and the UK he along with his brother, producer Tony Jarrett, started the band "Q-7" which recorded the tracks Life and Living (which was remixed by Toby at GeeJam studios in Port Antonio), and the single "Imagination". The band dissolved in 2003, and production of his new tracks has been primarily in the hands of Cat Coore. With three of the tracks that he has wrtitten and performed, including "No Ceasefire" being placed on 'Cat Coore and Associates' upcoming album, and a song (Good-Hearted People) co-written by Cat Coore and Donahue, and performed by Capleton and Third World, booking a place on the Third World and friends upcoming album, he is poised for greatness.
Some of these songs as well as "It's Your Life", the remix of "I've got to do" which features Junior "One Blood" Reid and which is another Donahue track for the Cat Coore album, "No Looking Down", a hip-hop flavoured track written and performed by Donahue and produced by prolific producer Makonnen, and 'Dreams Can come True' with Renowned Artiste "Turbulence", will be on Donahue's album dropping sometime in 2009.
Donahue's single "Remember the Days When" has been picked for a compilation CD being released by actress Mena Suvari and DJ Danes from LA while his rendition of the Gladiators' "Hello Carol" is featured in Storm's movie "Better Mus Come".
With three feature films under his belt, he is also an actor, making a cameo appearance in Storm's upcoming movie "Better Mus Come". In "Last Stop For Paul", the most award winning independent film of 2007 (winner of over 45 awards, with 25 Top Honors at various film festivals including Monaco Film Festival and Palm Beach Film Festival), he plays 'K-Man' opposite the protagonists, 'Charlie' and Cliff', (LA based producer/actor, Neil Mandt and Marc Carter). Last Stop For Paul was released in Theatres in LA, Chicago and New York on March 7th, 2008 and can be seen on Showtime, Showtime 2, and Starz during January, February and March 2009 (See Showtime for movie times)
