Donald Braswell is an operatic tenor trained at the renowned Juilliard School in New York. His musical career has taken him all over the world and includes performances with the Opera Orchestra of New York and the Spoleto Festival in Italy. During a series of performances in 1995 with the Welsh National Opera, Donald was struck by a car while cycling through Wales. He suffered severe damage to the soft tissue in his throat and was told by doctors that he might not be able to sing or speak normally again. Donald was determined to beat the odds and spent the next few years working diligently to regain the normal use of his voice. With a great deal of faith, determination, and hard work, Donald has been making his way back to the performance stage. Recently he has performed at select events in the San Antonio area. With the help of local friends, he has also recorded "New Chapter", a CD that combines elements of the musical theatre, pop radio, and operatic arrangements of timeless classical selections. Produced by Michael and Ron Morales and co-produced by Mark Martin, "New Chapter" is sure to become a fan favorite for many years to come. The musical arrangements by Brian Duncan are incredibly lush and provide a mesmerizing listening experience. For more info, log onto Donald's website at www.donaldbraswell.com.
Hello Donald, Just returned from 4 weeks in New Mexico helping my sister get over a broken hip. I wish I could hear your Christmas Concert for SAMM on Dec. 11th. and celebrate the Anniversary dinner of your fan club on the 12th., but it will not be possible this year. I want to wish you and your lovely family a wonderful, happy, Thanksgiving. Love, Vivian
Only about three weeks until the Dec 11th "No Crib for a Bed" concert in San Antonio to benefit SAMMinistries! I can hardly wait to hear all the Christmas songs you will be performing at the First Presbyterian Church downtown. Tickets are going fast so go to www.samm.org or call 210-340-0302 ASAP to get yours. Donald, you have been such an inspiration to so many who have heard your story. And you have done so much to help bring attention and much needed funds to those in need. Thank you for sharing your magical voice for the benefit of the less fortunate. There will be such a nice gathering of your fan club members who will enjoy the concert and then a special dinner the following night. You have brought many of us together through our shared love of your music. You have inspired some of us to do things we thought were no longer possible. Others have once again gotten involved in charity work and found a way to help others. What a difference a year has made in so many lives. Now is the chance for each of us to do something to help change the lives of even more people by giving to SAMMinistries and offering a hand up - not a hand out. Thank you for this concert and all you do for San Antonio.
The Carnegie show on November 27th will be a spectacular event! I have called all of my relatives in upstate New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and told them about the wonderful Thanksgiving present they will give themselves by seeing and hearing Donald Braswell in concert. Donald, you are the very best! Glenda from Idaho
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on. Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season . LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime. Love Trille & Jiho

Donald, I am just checking in to say how impressed I am again by the wonderful reports posted about the "Two Tenors and A Soprano" concert. Sorry I could not be with all of you but will attend the SAMM event and Fan Club Anniversary Dinner. So happy to see all your upcoming calendar dates! Neva, Braswellian.
Early reports say that tonight's concert was a smashing success - how could it be anything else with your beautiful voice and talent? Can't wait to see the new pictures! Glenda
Hi Donald, Hope the concert tonight is a great success. I can't wait to see you again at the next SAMM concert in December. Love to Julie and the girls. Love, Barbara
Wishing you all the best for the concert tonight, wish so mush I could be there, but looking forward so much to the next SAMM concert on December 11th.
Donald, I know the concert tonight is going to be outstanding, and your performance exceptional as always. As you know, there will be Braswellians in the house wearing their yellow roses. As always I am so sorry I cannot be there, but will see you in the future. God bless you. Love, Vivian
Fort Hood is close to San Antonio, isn't it? I wonder if that might be a good place for a concert honoring our military and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I heard that you did a very moving song last week paying tribute to them.
We heard your concert last week was outstanding and that the one tonight promises to be also though you're performing an entirely different type of music. You are so generous with your time and talent benefiting the needy and many other worthwhile organizations. May God bless you and your lovely family. Judy & Bill
