Hello, my name is Don Amero, I am a musician from Winnipeg, MB (Canada). It has been my pleasure and privilege to be able to write, play and perform my music throughout Canada (with hopes of more international play in the near future). Since the fall of 2007 I have been working as a full time musician and to date it has been a successful venture (Thank you to my family, friends and fans). I am looking forward to what the future holds, I've got plans!
My first album 'Change Your Life' is a homemade recording. I spent two months at home (on Garageband) and tried my best to make a quality CD. I went to a local manufacturing company and had them print up 200 discs for me. I was afraid that if I ordered more I would be one of those musicians that have sold 150 CD's and have 850 CD's rotting in their basement. To my surprise it has been getting great reviews and I'm happy to say that I have sold that 200 order 8 times over. 'Change Your Life' was also nominated for 7 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards (APCMAs) and is being distributed to 34 CD plus stores across Canada.
In February of 2009 I released my second album 'Deepening' (Also available in CD plus stores). For this one I decided that it was time to step it up, so I hired two great local producers Arun Chaturvedi and Lloyd Peterson. These guys brought out the best in me. It was also more of a family affair. My sis-in-law, Becky, pained the cover art, my bro-in-law, Daryl, designed the CD (And also my tasty website donameromusic.com), my other sis-in-law ,Corrie, came up with the title. It is great to have everyone involved and I am honored by their support. I have been touring the album all across Canada and hope to do much more in the coming months. As I speak/write 'Deepeing' is in the running for 2 APCMAs this year, so if you've got the time I would appreciate your votes (aboriginalpeoplschoice.com).
As I am promoting, touring and selling my previous albums; I am now in the very early stages of prepping for Album 3. I have decided to let everyone in on the journey as I do this, so if you'd like to come along for the ride, you can at donamero.blogspot.com
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
My Dear Don Amero, I want you to know that your music and your songs are my passion. I am addicted to Don Amero. There is something that pulls me towards them. Keep it up Don Amero. Do PS:Follow Me Twitter at http://twitter.com/iaent

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

The Next Star was a really good experience and I learned a lot. And I can honestly say that I wouldn't change a thing and that reality tv did not change me at all :) I'm playing in Winnipeg at the Rising Star Concert @ The Pantages Playhouse on November 5th during Aboriginal Music Week, it's airing on APTN I think. But you got the big gig!!! APCMA nominations right? Congrats! Maybe you can make it to the show? I would love to play an opening set anytime! But I have no idea who you'd talk to for that. dlyne.
So, I just recently listened to your new album that my mom has, and I just thought I'd let you know that I have some new favorites :) She, Enough and Fine Line are all amazing and the ones that grabbed me the most! I could just tell that the genius minds of Arun and Don were at work on those ones! It's a great album, and I just thought that maybe this would make you smile :) dlyne.
Well neechees, this is it - the party of the year! After much touring, takin' care of business and family, we are ready to throw down one spectacular multi-disciplinary arts affair! Focused around our new album, 'WE ARE' - the time has come to celebrate and bring this project’s potential to fruition with a presentational feast for the senses...
