Don Lummus, Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica Sue Lummus,Vocals, Keyboard/Rhythm
Influences
Hank Williams, Ray Price, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Chet Atkins, Les Paul, James Burton, Rick Nelson, Chuck Berry, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, basically all the great Country Legends... Plus a bunch of "Old Rock-n-Rollers..
"Live" At The Bugle Boy, LaGrange Texas.."Meet Me In The Wal-Mart Parking Lot",
We would love to sound like our friends, Jack Blanchard and Misty Morgan, but that slot is extremely well covered by them....so we just settle for sounding like just the two of us.. even when we're singin' with somebody else.. Maybe a little too much like us..that's just the way it is!
Band Story:
Formed in 2004, as a "spin-off" of The Texas Tradition Band, of Henderson, Don & Sue, The Texas Two features Don Lummus, Vocals, Lead/Rhythm Guitar, Harmonica, and Sue Lummus, Vocals, Keyboard/Rhythm.
Although this particular "phase" of bands only came about a few years back,
with a combined experience of over 60 years in the entertainment business, Don & Sue know how it's supposed to be done, and do their level best to do it accordingly. In addition to their "pickin" & singin'.. Don and Sue are both Published Songwriters and BMI affiliates with over 100 songs in their catalog.

Sue and her two sisters, Diana, and Mary Lynn, were singing 3 part harmony from the time they could talk, A love of music was instilled practically from birth, so singing just comes naturally for her. ........

"I was born a pore Country boy"... (Ain't that how most Country Singers start?) about 3 miles out of Henderson, Texas, on the "Laneville Highway" (FM 225). Delivered at home, I came in at a whoppin' 10lbs, 13oz. (In later years I apologized to my Momma for that!) My older brother, Joe, didn't take to kindly to the "new kid" at first, and was caught shortly after I was born trying to sneak me out of the house and across the road to Murdock's Store where he had been offered a Grapette soda water (that's "pop" for all our non-Texan friends) in "trade" for me. Luckily, he changed his attitude towards me in later years and we got along great after that.......
