As an avid traveler I've collected my share of hotel toiletries. Many have
been donated to those in need, esp in disasters such as Katrina!
I figured that if I've gathered this many bottles of shampoo, lotion,
and conditioner, then think of All the Other Travelers who could be doing
the same!
Every Touring Musician, Dancer, Athlete, Comedian, Actor/Actress,
and Model knows exactly what I'm talking about!
All those hotel stays add up!
Hotel Toiletries can definitely be donated to those who truly need
them.
Women Shelters and Homeless Shelters are always looking for
Donations!
Even the Complimentary
coffee, paper cups, pens and paper, etc can be of use! Hotels really
don't mind as long as you leave the towels. :)
Place everything in a Big Bag or a Large Ziploc for donating.
Donating items in Individual Care Baggies is also a great idea!
Donating Tips:
TIP 1:
When hotels change their name they often discard all the toiletries! Keep an eye out for hotels that are moving from one name to another! Getting hotels involved is also a great way to donate in bulk!
TIP 2: Contacting major brands such as Suave, Colgate, etc for sample sizes is another great idea! Cases are often sent to hotels free of charge. I'm sure the same is true for local shelters and food banks!
TIP 3: Requesting free samples from visited websites. Many new products are shipped for free to potential consumers.
TIP 4: Dental visits also provide you with great samples for donating! It's great for getting the kids involved during their 6 month check up!

sometimes people come into our lives that inspire us, motivate us, encourage us, and touch our hearts in some way as they help us see the true meaning of life; they could be a friend, they could be a stranger, but in their own way they make an impact on our lives, helping to change it and make it better
I believe that giving is one of the greatest gifts any 1 person in there entire life time could ever do. But I also believe that even if those who have nothing 2 give at all, can give the one thing most people do not have enough of......... And it's called the greatest gift of all. L.O.V.E.
I work at a homeless shelter for teens, we also take in foster kids. We are proud recipiants of donated hotel toiletries. When these kids come off the steets, they want a hot shower. We have about $25 per month alloted to care items,so if not for donations we would not be able to help these kids with the basic neccesities. Your help is greatly appreciated and the kids look forward to donation drop-offs,then they can "shop" for what they need. p. s don't forget to donate your new tootbrushes,hairbrushes,and full size bottles(they need not be full)
hey! its been a long time since we last chatted but i got an awesome job traveling and i have been stockpiling my toiletries to bring back with me! :) I'm also spreading the word to all the other people I work with to save the toiletries.
