Don Bear is two people playing music with each other's best interests at heart. The songs are written, played, and recorded in a basement in Bristol. We've been doing it for a while and have seen little in the way of stadium shows or those tour-buses where you can sleep in bunks and that. The time is spent tinkering, rehearsing and congratulating ourselves. The Performances? Rare. The Why? Now there's a question...
Hey! Appologies if this is the second comment we've sent you recently...bit of a mix up in the bands communication :)
Anyway.. we've been a little quiet for the last few months but we are very pleased to announce our new EP is finished and up on our myspace! It's called Bright Lights and has four brand spanking new tracks to blow your mind. Please have a listen and tell us what you think and if you love it, buy it! :)
I request and demand albeit politely that you let me know the INSTANT I am physically able to buy a copy of your album because I have been waiting in sweaty anticipation for it for SO long, do I need to go into the details of how much I love you yet again? Do I?
We cannot WAIT and hope that you'll be playing live shows in a Place Near Us to celebrate in merriment the out coming of yr works?
Let The Bastards, Grind! Presents… A State Sanctioned Recordings Showcase
Acclaimed improviser and composer BILL THOMPSON follows recent collaborations with Mark Wastell and Keith Rowe with a solo set of dense mesmeric fuzz, penetrating stillness and delicate electronic lacerations. “elicits less of a listening experience than a physical reaction, with certain tones generating headaches and eye twitches, and others inspiring euphoric new sensations in body parts that usually have no relationship with sound.” (Resonance Magazine) http://www.billthompson.org/
+ Family Battle Snake “A whorl of metal noise submerged in deep, slow moving loops of weeping melancholy” (Volcanic Tongue) http://www.myspace.com/familybattlesnake

A Future Without presents: Throwing Snow, Footnotes Part 1 EP
5 tracks of organic sounding, broken beat driven electronic bliss.
Throwing Snow has been compared to the likes of Bonobo, DJ Shadow, Four tet, Xploding Plastix and Quantic.
Jon Kennedy (Tru Thoughts/Grand Central) - 'SUPERB TUNES'
DJ m.path.iq (D:Bug Mag) - 'What I can say is that I don't get unique music like that every day. Throwing Snow has got my full support. Love Listless, Glitter Clatter and the musicality in each digital detail. Ambient vs. Breakbeat vs. World Music vs. Folk vs. Simply Good Taste.'
