Donovan "Don Corleon" Bennett has been hailed as one of Jamaica's most talented, innovative and dedicated producers. Born in Manchester Jamaica, 'Don' knew from day one that music was his dream and it took many years of dedication and lectures from his father before he was able to have his dream come true. Don started in a sound system in St. Elizabeth then in 1997 ventured off to Miami, Florida to study General Electronics & Marine Engineering, but his true calling in music brought him back to Kingston, Jamaica. After encouragement from his cousin, upcomming Dj Protoje, Don and Protoje started a sound system known as Vendetta. It was his involvement in Vendetta that helped as a stepping stone to becoming the producer he is today.
Don began to expand his horizons by voicing dubplates for various sound systems and made remixes included the famous Beenie Man, Capleton remix on the MudUp Riddim. Don produced his first major riddim in 2002 entitled 'Mad Ants' which featured major acts like Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Sizzla and Mad Cobra and gave then new dj Vybz Kartel his first hit song "New Millenium". Sizzla Kalonji seeing Don's talent, gave the young producer his first shot at producing an album with the hit "Rise To The Occasion" which included such hits as 'Give Me A Try' & 'Rise To The Occasion'. In addition, Don also produced Vybz Kartel's first album 'Up To Di Time' and Sizzla's 'Soul Deep'.He also co-produced on a few albums like Wayne Wonder's ' No Letting Go', Sean Paul's 'Trinity', Rhianna's 'Girl Like Me', Elephant Man's 'Good To Go', Wayne Marshall 'Marshall Town', Morgan Heritage & Gentleman to name a few. Don also produced more hit riddims such as Egyptian, Good To Go, Drop Leaf & Jonkanoo. Don has even managed to scored himself some Billboard Hot100 Hits like Elephant Man's 'Pon Di River, Pon Di Bank', TOK's 'Footprints' and Sean Paul & Keyshia Cole's current hit single ' Give It Up To Me'.
Don has a long list of major artists that he's worked with over the years. The list includes acts such as Bounty Killa, Sizzla, Capleton, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Wayne Wonder, Morgan Heritage, Jah Cure, Pit Bull, Maxi Priest, Dipset, Gentleman, Killa Priest from WuTang Clan, Sean Paul, Luciano, Ninja Man, Baby Cham, Rhianna, Lady Saw, Bling Dog & Wayne Marshal to name a few.
