as songwriter /vocalist / keyboardist / producer/ Don Freeman's career has spanned an extraordinary range of styles. Growing up in Philadelphia he developed a firm
reputation as a highly regarded session player in the Philly soul & jazz scene. This led to him signing his first artist deal with Gamble and Huff's Philadelphia International Records.
Don continued to perform, produce and write all over the world for some of the giants of music : Michael Jackson , Robert Palmer , Bill Withers , Chaka Khan, Rufus, Pino Palladino, Joan Armatrading ,Donal Lunny,Dolores Keane, Osunlade, Ms Dynamite, David Sanborn, Hugh Masekela , Jeffrey Osborne, The Temptations, Sergio Mendes, George Duke, Ramsey Lewis, Booker T Jones, Larry Carlton, Truby Trio, Coldcut and Astrud Gilberto.
His first maxi 12 inch" Fracture In My Soul" was released in 2003 on Raw Fusion Records with a broken soul -jazz remix from Les Gammas ( Compost) and a soulful house mix from Markus Enochson ( Masters at Work) with all vocals performed and produced by Don.
2006 has seen the release of 'Conundrum' Landslide & Don Freeman on Sick Trumpet Records with a Restless Soul remix from none other than Phil Asher. Conundrum ( grimey mix) is also featured on Southport Weekender Vol 5 (Endulge Records) compilation as mixed by Kenny Dope ( Masters At Work) & Chicago house legend Terry Hunter. . Tim Landslide is famous for his work on Hospital Records and as part of London Electricity. . ...Don is also collaborating with multi talented producer/ remixer-composer Dominic Jacobson aka Modaji / Harvey Lindo on an upcoming project... Don is now recording new songs for his solo record to be released in 2008.. more to come
