    Don Hart is a composer, arranger, and orchestrator living in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to his commercial recording endeavors, Don also serves as composer-in-residence with .. Orchestra Nashville ... .... 9/07 – 9/08.... This year Don has been very busy composing and arranging. In his first large symphonic work, Don joined talents with ..Trey Anastasio.. to write the Orchestra Nashville-commissioned ‘Time Turns Elastic’. The thirty-minute piece features electric guitar and voice, and premiered in Nashville at the Ryman September 2008. He also teamed with ..John Jorgenson.. to extend their 2005 composition, ‘Tarantella and Reverie’, into ‘Concerto Glasso’. The resulting three-movement work, also commissioned by Orchestra Nashville, is 25 minutes long and written in the Gypsy-jazz tradition for acoustic guitar and chamber orchestra. The two new movements, ‘Roma Arise’ and ‘Seaside Waltz’, premiered June 2008 by Orchestra Nashville. .... In addition to composing, Don wrote numerous arrangements for recordings and live performance. Those he worked with include the .. Don received a Grammy nomination in 2006 for his arrangement of ‘Scary Things’, from the award winning children’s album ‘Kid Pan Alley Nashville’ (Parents’ Choice Gold Award and NAPPA Gold Award). He has worked with numerous other artists over the years such as Martina McBride, on her single ‘In My Daughter’s Eyes’, and Randy Travis on his 2005 Grammy winning album ‘Worship and Praise’; also Sara Evans, John Bindel (‘Scary Things’), Collective Soul, Sam Bush, John Cowan, Gabe Dixon, Jonell Mosser, Suzi Ragsdale, Amy Grant, the Mavericks, Tim O’Brien, Wynonna, Michelle Poe, Bering Strait, Marty Stuart, Lonestar, Andy Williams, Steven Curtis Chapman, Steve Green, Sandi Patty, Peter Rowan, and Nanci Griffith..... Don’s instrumental and choral arrangements have been published by a number of companies, including Hal Leonard, Word Entertainment, Shawnee Press and Lorenz. He has also arranged and orchestrated for McGraw-Hill's music curriculum series. His compositions for broadcast have been heard nationally on A&E, CNN, TBS and the History Channel. In 1990 Don won advertising's Clio award, and in 1991 he was awarded Gospel Music’s Dove award for arranging and co-producing the Musical Album of the Year, ‘Handel’s Young Messiah’. ..........
