| | Influences | I dig all the great singers from the 40's and 50's - Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Nancy Wilson, Anita O'Day, Sarah Vaughn, Dinah Washington, Peggy Lee, June Christy, Nat King Cole, Frank, Tony and Dean and Cole Porter tunes, and you get the idea....
Then there are all the amazing sounds that came out of 60's radio when I was a wee lass... They could really write lyrics and pop wasn't a four letter word. Nights spent under the covers dialing in AM Radio hoping to catch the "favorite" du jour before sleep came on. Ah, the birth of album oriented rock and FM really came into it's own and between Uriah Heep and BB King, I was still checking out Gershwin, Berlin, Webb and Harlan Howard.
And then, on the sixth day there was Carole King's Tapestry followed by country-rock: Gram Parsons, The Bryds, Flying Burrito Bros. and Emmylou Harris.
Further explorations into jazz, rhythm and blues, and soul. Music is everything.
And it goes on... Always has and it always will. | | Sounds Like | Julie London meets Shirley Bassey with a bit of "The Cline" in the mix. | | Record Label | Dragonfly Records | | Type of Label | Indie |
