I am a "Joisey" girl who grew up in the shadow of THE CITY. My home town is Hawthorne, NJ. I started performing in concert and at festivals around the state of Florida in the 1990s. Through the years, I've appeared at many venues in the state of Florida. Among them: Skipper's Smokehouse, First Night St. Petersburg, the Will McLean Festival, the South Florida Folk Festival, and the Wings & Strings Festival. 1997 marked my first festival performance featuring national acoustic acts at the Suwannee Springfest in Live Oak, FL. I've also been a teacher at the Sunshine State Acoustic Music Camp sharing knowledge on singing and songwriting.
For three seasons I produced, hosted and performed in Keeping Company... with Donna Klein, an interactive round-robin concert series featuring songwriters from around the country. Now I've created a new concert series in Rogers City, MI - Donna Klein's Song Pull - a song swap between myself and another performing songwriter. It's an outgrowth of the BackRoads House Concert Series in Alpena, MI.
What do you get when you mix a killer guitarist with an eclectic songwriter? Gemini Moon! The newest music project took off on June 19th as part of the Rogers City Summer Concert Series on the beautiful shore of Lake Huron. We rocked the crowd! They listened and now they want more... Watch this space for info on upcoming shows!
I've got three full length recordings out there: New York City, Sail Beyond the Sunset and a holiday recording, Christmas Traditions. I'm finishing up the writing phase of a new full length recording and plan to start the recording process as soon as the writing is finished. I'm also teaching music from my home studio.
Here's what some people are saying about my music:
"You have a beautiful voice, and the songs that you sing are truly one of a kind. I'll look forward to more of your music, you truly are, a very gifted artist." - Woody, Redlands, CA
"...you have the kind of delivery, right-on voice and emotion that it takes to make a song live. My daugher, Linda, was out on the front porch with the smoking crowd. Most of them seemed to be ignoring the music inside. But, when they heard you begin your first song, there was a rush to put out the smokes and all of them went inside to hear you..." - Julie, Atlanta, MI
Thanks for all the pic comments, I'll send the love on to the rents. My dad was actually diagnosed with Hep C in 2007, so I moved up to RI last April to help take care of him... I know he'll be happy to hear from you guys :)
Thanx for the kind words Donna, I'm glad you liked it. As far as biggest pit goes, we didn't win anything. I think they were expecting the show to be bigger and when the 3rd band didn't show it went from a contest to just a regular show. It's okay though, we met a lot of awesome people and jammed out harder than we ever would've in our rehearsal space. Much love, see you tonight.
