InfluencesThe sounds of the forest at night, sitting under the glaring stars, watching the confused fluttering of fireflies emerge among the darkness between the trees and the distant echo of frogs chirping in a pond somewhere deep in the woods. Another glass of wine while aborbing a moment under the universe. And lastly a moment alone at the end of the night with six strings under my fingers and a flow of melody entertwined with intricacy and underlined by a colorful story.
Sounds LikeAmbient instrumental acoustic guitar, meditative piano, world percussion and avant-garde compositions.

   About DONOVAN KEITH [official site]
DONOVAN IS AN ORIGINAL SONGWRITER AND PERFORMING ARTIST OF INNOVATIVE GUITAR MUSIC. HIS MUSIC IS BOLD, DYNAMIC SOUND DERIVED FROM WORLD MUSIC, CLASSICAL, CELTIC, ASIAN, APPALACHIAN FOLK AND MIDDLE-EASTERN INFLUENCES. IT IS A SOUNDTRACK TO THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE, LOVE, IMAGINATION AND THE NATURAL WORLD. Donovan Keith is a multi-media artist and independent performer of ambient guitar music. His music has been aired on WXDU Durham and 100.7 fm Raleigh for tracks: "THE INFERNO," "PERPETUA," and "PHOENIX RISING" for local songwriter shows. Inspired by an upraising with Middle-Eastern culture in Southern California and from his native Virginian influences of Appalachian folk music, much of his guitar music has the ambience of world music appeal, but drawing soul from the depths of the southern mountains. He continues a musical heritage originated by generations of family musicians from Maces Springs, Virginia and includes relatives, the Carter Family. Venturing to the Pacific Northwest, Donovan found his calling as a solo experimental guitarist in Eugene, Oregon. Moving to North Carolina he has performed locally in the metropolis of Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, North Carolina and regionally in the southeast. He has traveled across the nation and performed at venues in several states, as well as songwriters events in North Carolina, and in Nashville, TN. Performing his second year at the Carrboro Music Festival in Chapel Hill/Carrboro, NC, a video on YouTube is available to watch. While shopping for an independent label capable of promoting this music to a broader audience, he works as an independent artist managing his own enterprise and booking for festivals, songwriting events and private receptions. Thanks for your interest in the music and for your support of independent performing artists!

Donovan, I'm recording next week in the studio. I know this is "off the wall", but would you like to add a little piece to one of my songs to get you some more exposure? Let me know! Call me in the next couple days if you are interested. Later bro.

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex covers more than 1.5 million acres.
This is a much-larger-than-Delaware chunk of wild land in Western Montana home to grizzlies, eagles, mountain goats, and much, much more.

Big Salmon Lake

Protected as the crown jewel of America's National Wilderness Preservation System, "the Bob" serves as the prototype for all of the nation's 702 wilderness areas. Yet this priceless area is degrading. A recent Wilderness Watch analysis of 20 years of Forest Service monitoring data documented a chronic decline in wilderness values in the area. We will use our analysis to educate managers, interest groups, and members of Congress on conditions within the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

Our goal with this is to prevent degradation of the wilderness character of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex. The management of wilderness in the Northern Rockies often sets the tone for the rest of the nation. In fact, “the Bob” is known as “the flagship wilderness” for that reason. As such, weakening wilderness standards here reverberate through the whole of the National Wilderness Preservation System.

Donovan! Congrats on the great job, sounds like it will be awesome! I think you make a wonderful teacher and I'm speaking from experience. I learned so much from you last summer, I don't know what I'll do without you in the Ochocos. I guess I'll just have to carry a book with me. Well good luck. Can't wait to tell you about my experiences, let me know if there are some areas I should definitely visit.
Peace, Danielle

I got to really sit down today and devote my ears to the music you have on here. I have to say I really enjoy this type of music. It reminds me a lot of a mixture of Kaki King and Mogwai. If you haven’t heard of them I suggest it. Keep the music flowing man I can’t wait to hear more.
