Don Peris is the longtime and current guitarist for the innocence mission. His solo CDs include: Brighter Visions Beam Afar, a
quiet instrumental offering of Christmas hymns
arranged for solo guitar and gently performed by Don.
....Go When The Morning Shineth, Don's second solo CD, a "resplendent collection of music featuring the chiming, electromatic sound and occasional voice of Don Peris...and Don's first CD, Ten Silver Slide Trombones.
Thnx for the music Don. I've been a fan since the 1st Innocence Mission record. The new stuff is so pure. Sounds like a great performance with a couple of good mikes to analog. Best wishes.
A mental loop of the first verse and chorus of Firefly got me around an English supermarket three days before Christmas (bedlam which has to be seen to be believed) with my equilibrium relatively undisturbed - thank you!
Brighter Visions Beam Afar has been such a gift to me this holiday season. The tone of the album is gentle and serene, a welcome combination for Christmas and in many ways a departure from how it is treated in the big, bad marketplace. The selection of songs is wonderful. I particularly appreciate some of the surprises like Für Elise, Christmastime is Here, and Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring. I’ll cherish this CD for many years to come. Merry Christmas!
Don, I'm very excited that you have a Christmas cd! Will get a copy as soon as I can. Is that a picture of your daughter with the tree? Lovely. It looks like it could be Karen as a little girl. :) grace & peace, Monique
The new songs are most beautiful renditions. They like all the pieces performed by you and IM move me in a way unlike any other. This might seem silly but: Thank You.
I hope all is well in Lancaster. Wednesdays feel a little empty nowadays. I'll see if I can give you a call soon, but I basically just wanted you to know that I'm still breathing.
Hi Don! It's been a long time - I listened to Glow today in the car - still one of my favorite records. I remember the old days often and hope you are well. - Tim Kwiat
i started the day by listening to TEN SILVER SLIDE TROMOBONES. this morning was a little cooler than the mornings that preceded it, with the fading of summer and autumn on it's way... i couldn't have picked a more appropriate soundtrack for the changing of seasons. i love this record. thanks again for creating it out of thin air.
In tribute to you and your music, I named a musical instrument after you in my first novel, "Auralia's Colors." The book will be in stores on Tuesday, thanks to Random House, and readers will catch a glimpse of a curious stringed instrument called a "perys." (Okay, so I changed the spelling ever so slightly.)
Anyway, I love "We Walked in Song" and I hope you two come back to Seattle some time soon. It's been way, way, wayyyyyy too long.
Don thank you for adding me,big hello from ireland, love your work for years and with the my space you can now tell pepole that.So thank you for the add and the music..stunning..
Thanks for the add... over the years The Innocence Mission has brought peace to my life when there was stress or chaos... thanks so much for the wonderful music you and Karen have brought to so many people and especially the lives you have touched with your songs.
I return again and again and find rest in your songs... I hope all of you are well. I so wish you'd come back to Portland. goodness & beauty & love, Monique
