The Don't Tell Darlings met years ago on the windswept plains of southern Minnesota but now spend their evenings pickin' and singin' in the sweet Virginia hills. They play a mix of long-forgotten and well-remembered tunes, with a healthy scattering of Miss Millie's originals. Their repertoire weaves threads of the old-time, Western Swing, early country and blues, bluegrass, and jug band traditions. Imagine a Depression-era mix tape. At any given moment, the Darlings might be harmonizing like song birds, raising a proper ruckus, or both. With Megan on guitar and Millie on the banjo, their sound is characterized by tight female harmonies and a penchant for songs that let everybody know: these girls will fix your wagon, and that's a promise.
I sure as hell hope our paths cross sooner than later. Little too ridiculous, right? Maybe a Whiskey Friday the last Friday of April? I'll be in town and would love to pull back some drinks which ya's!
Like the sound Meg! I'm not a big fan of country but I definitely enjoyed the tracks you have on here. :) Keep at it. Maybe you'll come home some time to perform? Would love to see a public performance. A
Hey there Darlings- of course we remember you- "Black Eyed Baby"- not sure if that's what it's called, but thought you should've taken the cake on that contest a few years back.
Admiring your tunes here in Scottsville- hopefully we will cross paths with you- seems like you keep good company with the ginny pigdogs. They're nice folks!
