Who I'd like to meet:
Who controls the dominant ideology in your nation? I am convinced that in the USA the corporate and institutional elite control the dominant ideology.

_________________ Consumerism?

I think consumerism is a human nature, in fact animal nature or the nature of 'life', the universe's stars are the ultimate consumers. We are a product of, and dependent upon the consumption in chemical reactions. Consumption and hierarchy is what causes change - certain elements consume other elements, or join together to consume other elements. However consumption is a means to effect, rather than destruction; matter doesn't disappear and cease to exist, it merely changes it's construct /purpose.

Free-will is what seperates man and some animals from all other life - the free will not to consume. Free-will is in my mind often confused: it seems it is often related to "what to do?", when in fact it is far more prevalent in "I wil not do". It is of course questionable as to whether free-will is free; that's another story :- if all we are as a conscience is a 'point of view' in a matrix of 'society' (point of view - chemical /elemental construction, society - position /direction) and our conscience is little more than our biology /instincts combined with accumulated knowledge; then it is arguable for gravity to have a deciding influence upon whether will is free, strength of temptation (either to be 'good' or consume) the ultimate factor in a will based decision.

I think with regards to your question, that it is human nature to worship and idolise the divine; creating the illusion 'divinity' is manipulable, and in many cases the quest of humanity - for example riches are considered 'divine' for the opportunity for a unique take on life (ability to do as one pleases, the indivuals choice being unique), or beauty, or strength /attempted-perfection of construction such as architecture. The entirity of civilization is a manipulation, pyramidal in that divinity remains at the pinnacle, regardless of changes occuring within the rest. Those close to the top have control over the view of divinity from the bottom (:- Egyptian idea of light-reflecting mirrors in the pyramid...). So I think it is fair to say that the most powerful spiritual /business leaders have a certain amount of control /influence over the perception of the divine for everybody else.

Whether it is a corruption or not is clear - humans are corrupt, there is debatable argument a human would value their mother more than an 'equal human to their mother'*; in essence that is a corruption, the most basic elemental human corruption. Of course, because of our addiction to satisfaction /consumption, corruption is rife - life is a compulsive addiction, a star is compelled to burn and continue to do so. Money and power is also retained within communities for purposes of protection, protection of what? I would argue, due to man's natural greed, protection of business is never for protection of the earth's natural divinity, but for the protection of selfish wealth, regardless of the earth's wellbeing - I argue for an essentialist production/business against the current desire based model of production/profit where possible, regardless of nature's health.

Overall, I would say the dominant ideology is the individual's nature evolved to become a society very similar to a man, with a head, a mouth, arms, legs, a body, a digestive system; I am of the opinion that the social construst is a direct representation of a human body, contained within a pyramid. The idea of the pharoe being man itself - his eyes the telescopes, his hands the architects and artists, muscles the labour, legs the transport and produce-dependent cities, footprints on the continents. Whether it has been intentionally constructed or not, whether the conspiracy is will-based or an effect of nature's cause is one perhaps nobody will know.

[* If the equal is reputation, one's perception of both being exactly the same, I think a one would reward or prefer one's mother to her equal, for no reason other than inherent - the divinity of pro-creation and one's source. Of course on a sexual level it is even more debatable and it is also debatable; whether perception is related to anything other than procreation and 'edibility'.]

When we are talking about consumerism, we are talking about the mythical Satan. I believe consumerism is the root of selfishness, violence, bullying, selfish and immoral business prowess, and practicly all the 'bad' in our lives. However, is a volcanic eruption all 'bad'? Is cocaine all 'bad'? Is the use of money to aid trade all 'bad'?

The answer is that Satan isn't all bad, what is bad is human's ability to resist Satan, that is clear from the way we have treated our mother - Planet Earth (Surely 'Earth' should be 'Water' - Planet Wat). I have a book of photos, containing aerial images of cities like verucca on the earth's surface, wheat fields in a desert (wtf ); though also the natural divinity of our planet, mountain ranges and water marks, the expanse of the oceans juxtaposed with the intricacy of land; the beaches, trees, mountains and rivers - the divinity of earth is not of man's construction and never will be, we can only hope to become close to it's perfection.

I think this: If the universe is no more than millions of burning stars, surrounded by planets of rock and gaseous fuel, then that makes the universe a huge ball of fire. Satanic is that. It has no control over itself, it just burns and spins for eternity. We humans, contained on a productive, cyclically-sufficient planet of water are a bastion of Good, we have the single hope of maintaing the divine balance and prolonging the existence of earth as a haven of Good; a fertile place, the opposite of the destructive nature of stars. Yet what is happening? we are consuming the planet for no real reason other than a total incapability to realise where Satan has us; consuming selfishly, immitating Satan, not "God". We are in Satan's image; all man has done is consume and pleasure himself, it is sickening; and what hope is there for change? The only hope I see is a systematic restriction of consumption, followed by a systematic breakdown of pain and violence. We must do it if we are to honour the divinity 'life' the planet has gifted us.

We must do. Kill the global-business led devouring of earth by boycott. It's our hope. Reject cars, reject wrong foodstuffs, reject sugar and salt, reject addiction, reject Satan, reject excessive. There is no God watching us, we make God ourselves, if we succeed in the rejection of Satan, then we are God: and we havn't come close yet. I call for permanent fast, the inverse of the yearly celebration - we must fast for eternity and return life unto our planet. Mankind will benefit inumerably, if people aren't alone, eating, then we will commune as the family of races we are - multi-culture and eco-friendly creation will follow, all we must do is reject excessive, lazy, corrupt consumption. I hope man can come through and defeat the terrible fate we face, it would be so tremendously stupid to destroy our planet over Religion. Religion doesn't work, look what has happenned over the centuries - a systematic destruction of our planet. Is that what "God/Allah" called for? Selfish conversionism and capitalism? No way, we a have a hope - reject excessive consumption, it is even shown to improve health as "xanadu" said:
Quote ( "xanadu" ):
"Ascetic practices such as dietary restriction, sleep deprivation, and self-mortification are meant to foster inner peace, purity, and connection to the divine."

I am totally baffled as to why this isn't common practice, promoted by religion - as far as I can see religion has distracted us from it. The faith in God is about the stupidest belief I could ever consider. Humans as a life force have the potential for God, the only god we face is Satan - the mass of fire and consumption the universe is. Men seem to have ignored this and continued working as a limb of Satan; fire, disagreement, lies, corruption, manipulation via belief and the satanic ritual of celebrity (Jesus is the biggest Capitalist success story, the biggest celebrity - kill this faithless short sighted belief at once!) We smoke and drink and excrete our lives into a mess of money, religion and fiction. This is also known as Satan's trickery - temptation, gravity - we have free will not to do as Satan calls, not do what Satan wishes.

By Satan, as I think I have already conveyed, I mean the natural urge for consumption and selfish behaviour present in all of existence. We humans have the capability to go against Satan. Religion is not the answer, publicising true discoveries and information is our hope. Ascetic practices, community support, the removal of men's wrongs from the planet - the breakdown of the energy industry, destroy cars; remove fields of irrigation from the deserts; stop farming rainforests, leaving them bare when nutrients are depleted. Humans as a race, we are a manipulating consumer, and it is only we who will ever stop the excess. PLEASE STOP THE EXCESS. We have the power to become a force of God - freedom of will, the break from instinctive temptation. Reject excess is our opportunity - all religions promote this, yet it is clear they have not worked, our hope is to communicate and persuade our fellow citizens of the right path - do not exceed.
