COLOSSLOTH are one of the United Kingdom's newest drone meisters. This album is heavy as shit. And there is hardly any distortion what so ever on it. Colossloth's debut is dark ambient torent tied firmly to a sheeth of primitive psychedelic drone with strings of isolated discomfort. See, it is easy to hook up a few distortion pedals and make a drone, the trick is a drone that carries the listener somewhere. Colossloth made a dark, doomy drone album, without the crutches of over signal processing... now that is a really good trick. A good one that you will like. I can only imagine what this band will do once they plug in... some will have a hard time getting off the floor.

WORSHIP "Last LP Before Doomsday" 10th Anniversary LP reissue Ten years ago this European outfit released their debut album on the now legendary PAINIAC RECORDS out of Belgium. In that 10 years, the album has become a cornerstone for doom metal. And to many of the fans of doom, it is the greatest album of them all. Worship channelled the sufferage of humanity allowing the band to create music in it's purest dark form. This is dangerous. Worship almost completly fell apart after the suicide of co-founding member and vocalist Max. It has been 10 years and this album never turns up for sale on vinyl anymore, and when it does it commands big money. The album will feature a inner sleeve too.

WICKED KING WICKER There has been a lot of press on this New York band lately. Terrorizer magazine (on the same page as Blue Sabbath Black Cheer piece as well) called their 1st two albums "crushing." Web sites like Crucial Blast, Aquarius Records, and a number of other European sites describe their onslaught as brutal and punishing, recommending them to listeners of SKULLFLOWER, BLUE SABBATH BLACK CHEER, WOLF EYES and KHANATE to name a few. Fact is, WKW have only gotten heavier since their 1st 2 albums. Their brand of extreme doom noise drone stands them apart from many others in the same genre. The venom in their expression of misery is potent and completely debilitating, and they're just getting warmed up.
