Passage began as a solo-project of Roby from the band Moonlyght in 2001. Roby wanted to do something more doomy, more depressive than what he's doing with Moonlyght and then he started to have ideas for his new project. Soon after, he recorded a 4-songs demo with only guitars, keyboards and a drum machine. These songs had no vocals but he made them listen to Luc Gaulin, one of his best friends and also a very good drummer, who played with Moonlyght years ago. Without any hesitations, Luc wanted to play in Passage. New songs were composed and recorded at home as a pre-production for the forthcoming first album. Roby wanted to get another of his long-time friend to play on the album, Vincent Gauvin, who is another ex-Moonlyght member (he was a forming member with Roby but left after the release of their first album "Progressive Darkness" in 2002). At the begining of 2004, Passage entered Nokturn Studio in Quebec City to record the first full-lengh album. It is Sbastien Groleau who was responsible for the production of the album, and the result is absolutely fantasic! In 2005, the band took time to search for a good and honnest label and finally signed to the Portuguese label Exorcize Music, who just released Passage's debut album on August 8th. The response from the Metal world has been extremely great so far and that is only the beginning of Passage's mark. That gives a lot of power to continue writing new songs for the next album!
