doomsday device is a "atmospheric droany melodic" instrumental band from st. Louis...formed of local musicians re-structuring songs written years prior by guitarists Eli and Nelson, who've been writing/playing music together since the 2cnd grade...the idea was to take heavier "melodic" music and strip away all personal identity of human understanding, creating music that could not be catagorized into doom, sludge, indie post-rock instrumental, etc..but rather music you could disappear to...instead of creating art and perspective, they create time and space...and then some more time...enough time to mentally escape your surroundings and listen to music...no politics, opinions, distractions...nothing but sound and atmosphere..
