Doppler Effect was formed August 14, 1980 with the recording of "Sheesh Recorded Live" by Kol Marshall, Nick Kane, and "Bhubby". Doppler Effect was quickly expanded to include: Emory Anderson and Angela Guethlein.
Performing briefly with Doppler Effect was the legendary John Cale. Doppler Effect credits John Cale as an honorary founder because
Cale helped decide upon the name Doppler Effect, and performed with us as his "back line" at our first live performance on November 14, 1981 at a club called Stillwend in SoHo, lower Manhattan.
On June 5th, 2008 at 11:11 AM we were contacted by Gary Fox after he had unearthed the Only Known Tape of this momentous live event. This November 1981 performance is unique in both the John Cale and Doppler Effect music catalogs, and includes a 9 minute Doppler Jam!
