D'Opus & Roshambo "The Basement" Ft. Hancock Basement
Digital only Remix EP - 2009 (MSL)
D'Opus & Roshambo "The Switch" LP 2008 (MSL)
D'Opus & Roshambo "The Switch_12" Vinyl EP 2008 (MSL)
If lyrical currency counts for anything in hip hop, D’Opus & Roshambo have a Million Dollar Bill in their debut album. After two years locked inside their Canberra studio the boys have released The Switch, a record as anticipated as an act of Parliament.
D’Opus (Ross Garrett) has brought a heavy arsenal of artist collaboration to the album. Before fusing with Roshambo (Rowan Thomson) in 2004, he’s shared stages with the Jungle Brothers, DJ Q-Bert, Mr. Thing and De La Soul. As a
duo the pair has played Stonefest, Corinbank Festival and Trinity Bar Block Party.
Since releasing their celebrated EP The Question, which rippled through the national dials of Triple J and community radio nation wide, D’Opus and Roshambo have dedicated themselves to producing a sound that would
break Australian hip hop convention. The Switch is an album that combines meticulous production and clarity of vision with a narration on the darker reality of Australian life through a melodic mix of jazz, funk, old school hip-hip and drum ‘n’ bass rhythms.
A maverick of hip hop production, The Switch holds a microphone up to the capital’s underbelly. The first single ‘Million Dollar Bill’ will have heads nodding as Roshambo inspires with an ode to family and friends that is seamlessly fused with D’Opus’ drum n bass inspired symphony. ‘The Basement’ is solid hip-hop/ electronica with a deeper side to the beats. With a tight collaboration with indie rock band Hancock Basement, D’O and Ro elevate their music from the underground into a broader sound and time. “People down in the basement, we’re bringing’ it up” – this album is as much a revolution of the band as the sound they spin.
With an impressive list of collaborators including the USA’s Supastition dropping by on ‘Leave Her Alone’ and local acts Axe Aklins and Carts2Deadly lending their skill to ‘Bright City Lights’, The Switch has a sound that is full of beauty and soul, but at times devastatingly funky.
From classic scratch and beats to political pop-rockin’, The Switch will turn hip hop off its axis. With a video and the release of ‘Million Dollar Bill’, 2008 is set to be a hot year for D’Opus & Roshambo.
Yo D'Opus & Roshamboasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them. Please come to our page, give it a listen and let us know if it makes you feel like something catastrophic is gonna happen. If the song upsets you too much we will be holding several s support groups (read: comcerts) in the near future. Check our page for locations, dates and times.

BIAS B - AEROSOL ERA - July 4th out through Wordburner/Obese Distribution.
Throughout the 80s and 90’s Melbourne experienced a graffiti explosion which quickly cemented the city in the history books for it’s influence on style and development of the graffiti art culture. Bias takes us on a journey back to his days growing up on the train lines with the infamous Wild Child Art crew, to the days he calls the Aerosol Era. Tracks that describe the often tumultuous life of a writer, like “Militant Mindstate,” “Another Day,” and “Racked That,” showcase the very personal and introspective nature of Aerosol Era through the eyes of one of Australian hip hop’s most influential poets. Featuring production by Jase, Bigfoot, Peril, Ransom, Ciecmate and Brothers Stoney and representing Melbourne’s most prolific graffiti crews DMA, WCA, USA, CTF, RDC, F1C, TSF, Hursty Boys and Brisbane’s DIE TBK and 750, Aerosol Era is an audio journal of the graffiti life as penned by Bias himself.
