Dorena is a Swedish post-rock band formed in 2007 by 5 guys spread around the city of Gothenburg. The members had played together in various constellations since they were kids, playing everything from punkrock to screamo.
Before starting Dorena in the fall of 2007, the line-up consisting of Kim, Andreas, Jonatan, Samuel, and a singer named Joakim, were playing music more similar to screamo. Struggling to get together for rehearsals since Joakim was living far from the others, he left the band. Highly influenced by post-rock, the members were eager to take a step into the genre, and leave the screamo behind. Kim quit playing bass, and took over the guitar and vocals instead. Simon joined the band as the new bass-player, and the music was starting to come to life.
