Dorkstar is an energetic original Austin rock band with a versatile sound. Their style is characterized by a driving rhythm section, melodic vocals, and provocative guitar licks. Somewhat eclectic, Dorkstar’s songs range from soft-acoustic to garage punk, with song subjects from music industry commercialism to making breakfast. Their debut album, “Commercial Rock”, was released in March 2005. “Tryptophan”, released in June of 2007, shows the evolution of the band’s talent and style with even more diversity. Dorkstar is a collective mix of each member’s experience and astonishingly diverse influences. Having attained radio play, excited fans, and buzz all over Texas, Dorkstar still travels around the state doing shows several times a month. Already working on and performing new songs for a third album, the band continues to evolve as they move into their sixth year together.
