Did I mention Firefly? Lord of the Rings?
I am also interested in Harry & David dark chocolate truffles, but they have a higher fat and calorie content than the first two.
Music
It really depends on my mood and what I'm doing.
For relaxing at home: Nomad Planets, Al Stewart, Tragically Hip, Bryan Adams, Five for Fighting, Eric Clapton.
Study or work? I love a good movie or TV series soundtrack: Fellowship of the Ring, Van Helsing, Battlestar Gallactica, Serenity or Firefly, Master and Commander, Stargate Alantis....
Serious concentration time? Got to have those Brandenburg Concertos. On the drive to work? Chilling out with WNUA Smooth Jazz is the way to go for me -- can't beat Ramsey Lewis and Karen Williams for an(almost) stress-free morning!
And the world would be a much poorer place without Etta James singing "At Last!" or Miles Davis doing his thing with Gershwin's "Summertime." On the flip side, got to have "War" by Joe Satriani and "Bloodsucking Leeches" by the Dizie Dregs once in a while, too.
That's the menu for the time being. Life changes and so should the soundtrack of our lives.
Movies
"Serenity". Just kidding. No, seriously..."Serenity". Also the Lord of the Rings trilogy, "A Dog's Breakfast","Aliens", any Gene Kelly movie, "Bell, Book, and Candle", "Contact", "White Christmas", "Galaxy Quest", "That Thing You Do", "Educating Rita",...mine is an endless and unusual list...
Television
FIREFLY (Nope, doesn't matter how long it's been off the air, you still can't take the Firefly from me!), FRINGE, DEFYING GRAVITY, CASTLE, SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Lost, Bones, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who...(mmmm, anybody see a trend here?)...Charlie Rose, Digging for the Truth (yep, fan of the History Channel, too. I'm just that kinda nerd!) and Smallville (not ready to give up yet, but come on writers and producers: Lex. Evil. Now. Completely. Get on with it already! And...exactly when will Clark figure out flying is a good thing?)
Books
Always:
Dean Koontz's ODD THOMAS series and the Christopher Snow books, SIEZE THE NIGHT and FEAR NOTHING; Tolkien's LORD OF THE RINGS
New favorites:
JOHANNES CABAL THE NECROMANCER by Jonanthan L. Howard
On writing:
SOMETIMES THE MAGIC WORKS by Terry Brooks

Heroes
Dean Koontz for being such a phenomenal writer, Charlie Rose for being so passionate about his job, Joss Whedon for his quirky and non-stop imagination, and all my friends for riding out the storms of life with me...and anyone who can get me a job on The Hobbit film. Or Stargate Atlantis. Or free Harry & David truffles.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to meet my writer-friends Gabrina and Sue. We've already met many times, but we never seem to have enough time together.
Walter Bishop, mad scientist for the new millennium. (Hey, I know he's just a fictional character on FRINGE, but how cool is he?)
I'd like to meet Nathan Fillion, Allan Tudyk, Gina Torres, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite, Morena Baccarin,Ron Glass, Summer Glau, and Sean Maher. Let's get together with Joss and, oh I don't know, maybe film some new episodes of a cool SciFi/Western TV show?
I'd like to meet anyone who can get me a job on the film of The Hobbit. Or on Stargate Atlantis. Or the next Doctor Horrible project, which I thought was absolute genius. (I really need to meet other nerds like me who have watched all the episodes of Firefly and Stargate Atlantis on DVD with the commentaries...more than once. Perhaps I'll get to DragonCon next year. I'd go this year but I have a wedding to go to that weekend. I'd really like to go to the SG convention in Vancouver, but it's really expensive and who knows with the gas prices what airfare will be like next Spring?)
I'd like Trixie Koontz to become my dog Gracie's guardian angel and get her to mellow out a bit (and give me the scoop on how to get an imagination like her owner's). I'd like to meet Dean Koontz, but when I did, I'd probably draw a blank on all the things I want to tell him and to ask. I'd end up reduced to just another goofy, star-struck fan, which is not the impression I want to make, so...never mind. Ditto for Josh Whedon, Peter Jackson, Martin Wood and Charlie Rose. (Both the goofy fan thing and the nevermind part; best to remain anonymous until I'm such a respected, sucessful author that they all want to meet me. Hey. I can dream, can't I?)
Hi Dorothy, How are you? We just finished our new video SPELLFURY 2, can you please tell me what you think? We're trying to find an audience for it, so anything you can do to help get it out there would be much appreciated!
It was so much fun hanging out! I am so sore today! Does that sound dirty? I meant at Pam's wedding (just in case peiople get the wrong idea since...well, ya know...that's just how I am! A dirty, dirty girl!
When does your book come out? Everything has been crazy here, I was in the ER, I just went down to evaluate two dogs and neither of them passed...grrr. Who's with me in moving into a fantasy world for a while?
