I can’t live my life without Static Guard.
I once taught English to German natives who spoke Russian.
I don’t like to talk on the phone and I don't have a cell phone.
I know my math. I made A in calculus in college.
My favorite movie of all times is Matrix, but only the 1st one. No. 2 and 3 were a waste of time.
I have been to most US states and many European countries.
I don't drink soft drinks. Ever. I drink hot green tea, even in the middle of the summer.
When I moved to the US I had $200 to my name.
I'm not afraid to read geeky manuals written by geeky guys.
My mother always told me: "Everything is easy. You just need to know how to do it".
I'm a PC girl, but I do have some MAC friends.
A few of my scattered thoughts:
Too many people talk too much and only a few know how to truly listen.
God is not a product of my imagination. I am a product of His imagination.

About Me
My name is Dosia, pronounced ['do-shia]. I am a music composer, piano and flute player, singer, song writer, arranger and a graphic artist. Building on classical training, I find inspiration in film, electronica, New Age music, as well as world music.
I would like to meet other musicians, artists, poets, thinkers, colleagues and collaborators. Thank you for visiting my page.
Dosia McKay Bio
My musical path began in early childhood or perhaps even before birth. My grandfather was an organist, a choir and a band director and a music teacher before and after the Second World War in Poland.
My grandmother, although without formal training, often astonished her fellow church members with her pure soprano. On the other side of the family tree, my paternal grandfather was a piano tuner.
My earliest memories connected with music are those of singing rounds with my mother and harmonizing to Christmas carols. My first musical instrument was a baby glockenspiel which experienced a great deal of ware and tare from the constant playing of all the popular melodies heard on the radio and TV.
When I outgrew the glockenspiel, I dreamed of another instrument. I begged and pleaded with my parents to buy me a piano, but they were unable to fulfill my dream. Harsh realities of communist Poland made basic survival the first priority and left little room for extravagant wishes.
At the age of nine I enrolled at the local music school where I first studied classical guitar and eventually settled on flute and piano. I continued my education at the Conservatory of Music in Gdansk. As a member of the symphony orchestra and women's chorale I traveled to Hungary, Switzerland, and Germany. I graduated with honors, majoring in flute performance under Ewa Pinno and Katarzyna Wittschenbach.
In 1991 I came to California to join the Celebrant Singers with whom I traveled extensively throughout the States, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and western Europe. Since 1994 I have made Tennessee my home.
I have been studying composition at the University of Tennessee School of Music under Dr. Kenneth A. Jacobs and Dr. James R. Carlson. My Danse Macabre for piano trio won the Southeastern Composers' League's Arnold Salop Memorial Composition Contest in 2007 and was a co-winner on the regional level of the Society of Composers Inc./ASCAP Student Composition Competition in 2007. I am a recipient of the School of Music Scholarship.
My music has been featured at the East Tennessee State University, King College in Bristol, TN, Southeastern Composers League's Forum at the School of Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, College Music Society's Southern Chapter conference at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL, as well as in recitals in Knoxville, TN.
I am an avid flutist with a special interest in chamber and orchestral music. I am a member of the Empyrean Winds Quintet. I am also a graphic artist. My digital paintings are collected around the United States and in Europe.
