PAMA INTERNATIONAL’s new album, titled “Pama Outernational” will be released in November on Rockers Revolt Records. Heavyweight dub sounds rule the way on this superb release with King Tubby & Lee Perry inspired vibes meeting the Southern soul sounds of 1960’s Stax in fine style. This is probably the band’s most accomplished release to date & features 12 excellent tracks in total. Prior to the album Pama International have released a new single titled “I Still Love You More” on limited edition coloured 7” vinyl. The band will be touring across the UK in & November to promote the new album & single. A number of these dates will be support slots of the latest Uk tour by The Specials.
Wiltshire one man ska explosion ROBB BLAKE’s upcoming 3rd album looks set to be titled “Aint Got No Soul”. Robb has been busy writing & recording the album, as well as appearing at festivals like Kippertronix & Kendal Calling, over the summer.
Exciting news from the CARTOON VIOLENCE camp! Only 8 months after the release of their debut album on Do The Dog Music, the Welsh based crew have started recording their 2nd long player. They have written lots of new songs to choose from for the release & it could end up being quite a diverse album with lots of different moods. Also in the pipeline are several more Cartoon Violence promo videos for songs from their debut CD.
DIRTY REVOLUTION are currently touring the UK with The JB Conspiracy (formerly known as Duff Muffin). Reb & the boys will also very soon be recording their eagerly awaited debut full length album.
THE STEADY BOYS have been practising & song writing over the past few months & as a result have a clutch of brand new songs under their belts. They played a couple of big shows in October, supporting Secret Affair in Newcastle & appearing at the huge Bridlington National Scooter Rally. They also look set to play their first European tour next year. A cartoon style promo video for their tune “Coldstream Guards” is also in the works.
3 MINUTE WARNING have sadly split up. With the departure of keyboardist Chuzz from their line up & vocalist Billy moving to Australia, the band could no longer exist. 3 Minute Warning played an incredible final gig headlining the Kippertronix Festival in July. One of the finest ska/punk bands the UK has ever produced, i am very proud to have released their debut album on Do The Dog Music! They will be sorely missed!
No less than 4 Do The Dog bands (Jimmy The Squirrel, Cartoon Violence, Rasta4Eyes & John Player Specials) can be found on the latest compilation release by the excellent Manchester label TNS RECORDS. Titled “Mainstream Music Is Shit”, the comp features a total of 37 UK punk & ska bands over 2 discs. Other bands on the release include Harijan, Stand Out Riot, The Fractions, Kickback UK & The Hijacks. You can order the comp for just £6 from www.tnsrecords.co.uk

CATCH IT KEBABS have been showcasing a bunch of new tunes from their upcoming 3rd album at live dates over the summer, which included appearances at the Kippertronix & Boomtown Fair festivals. Much of their new material captures a really cool brassy reggae & trad ska vibe. The Kebab’s brass section has been beefed up with the recent addition of new trumpet player Melissa. The band hope to record their new album when they take a break from gigging after Christmas. Jamie Kebab has set up a new regular free live band night in Barnsley called the Dancehall Soundclash.
The end of August saw Brighton acoustic skaster DREWVIS hit the road for a mini UK tour with US band Natalie Wouldn’t (featuring ex-members of Easy Big Fella) & Brighton 3rd wave ska crew Second Time Lucky (who Drewvis also plays guitar for). Drewvis’ long awaited 2nd album, “Down For The Upstroke”, is very near completion. Watch out for a release soon on Do The Dog Music.
SKYLAR frontman MATTHEW REYNOLDS has self-released a brand new solo album titled “Come Pouring”. The album was recorded with Peter Miles & features 10 songs. June & July saw Matt play a bunch of dates across the UK to promote the release.

DO THE DOG MUSIC NEWS
NEW TOWN KINGS’ first European tour in July was a huge success. The tour kicked of in Amsterdam followed by a trek across to Eastern Germany for a great gig in Cottbus. Next up was an appearance at the huge Mighty Sounds Festival in a very muddy Czech Republic. New Town Kings began their set at Mighty Sounds to a crowd of about 20 people & ended it playing to more than 400. Not bad considering they were up against The Aggrolites on another stage at the same time! After Mighty Sounds the band drove for 13 hours back across Germany & Holland & then slept for 5 hours in a car park before playing a last minute gig at Ernestos in Sittard (made famous by the live Slackers albums recorded there). It turned out to be a storming show & there is talk of New Town Kings returning there next year to play a carnival. The tour was rounded off by 2 more quality shows in Antwerp & Krefeld where much dancing & tequila drinking took place.

After a great weekend at Kippertronix Festival in July & some excellent local shows with John Player Specials, Harijan & The Fractions, RASTA4EYES’ new drummer Matty has been settling in well. The band has also recently drafted in Alec Davies (of The Fractions) to join their brass section on trumpet. Rasta4Eyes are currently working on their debut album which they hope to record in early 2010. They have about 8 or 9 songs at the moment for the release, with a few more new ones in the pipeline.
Since the release of their debut album on Do The Dog Music at the end of June, RESOLUTION 242 have been gigging pretty much non stop, playing some great shows alongside the likes of The Skints, Random Hand, Dirty Revolution & Sonic Boom 6. They appeared at Rebellion Festival & also played a 6 date mini UK tour. The debut Resolution 242 CD has been picking up some great reviews & lots of radio airplay, including several spins on the BBC Radio 1 Punk Rock Show, & the band have already been back in the studio to work on 3 brand new tunes.
CAPTAIN BLACK NO STARS are currently busy recording their debut album, “East Coast Dirty Reggae”, for Do The Dog Music. The release is being engineered & mixed by Tony Devenish & Neon Mussolini & the new material reportedly has a richer, more organic sound than their “Boss Sounds Of The Boom & Bust” tracks. There have been quite a few changes in the Captain Black No Stars’ line up. The band have recruited a second guitarist called Xal Kirk. They are also currently recording & gigging with Rebelation’s Alex Scott on drums & have drafted ex-Rebelation member Nicky Pig to sing backing vocals on the album. Captain Black No Stars’ bassist Marc Carpark is due to have his second child soon, so the band will be using a stand in bass player until Christmas.
Smoke Like A Fish’s latest KIPPERTRONIX FESTIVAL extravaganza in their Mid Wales orchard at the end of July was once again an amazing weekend with a bumper crowd witnessing live sets from 25 bands over 2 days. The Do The Dog Music stable bands appearing (Catch It Kebabs, Splitters, Rebelation, Smoke Like A Fish, Dirty Revolution, Jimmy The Squirrel, John Player Specials, Cartoon Violence, Robb Blake & Rasta4Eyes) all turned in stellar performances, but undoubtedly the highlight of the festival was the storming last ever gig by 3 Minute Warning. Tran from SMOKE LIKE A FISH has released an excellent DVD of the 2008 Kippertronix Festival which does a superb job in capturing the wonderful atmosphere of the event. The DVD includes tracks by Splitters, New Town Kings, 3 Minute Warning, The Skalinskis, Eastfield, ICH & Smoke Like A Fish & is well worth checking out. Smoke Like A Fish hope to begin recording their long awaited new studio album early in the New Year.
Mid July saw LIAM O’KANE hitting the road for a 6 date mini UK tour. Liam has been working hard on his 2nd album which he hopes to start recording soon. The album will be titled “Liam O’Kane & The Stabilizers” & will be recorded as a 3 piece line up. Watch out for a release later in the year on Do The Dog Music. Meanwhile JIMMY THE SQUIRREL’s debut full length album should at last be finished & relesed very soon on Do The Dog Music. The Squirrels will be gigging hard over the next few months to promote the new album.
wow...Jimmy the Squirrel track "Carnival"....i got to say this track is definitely a #1 hit. The beat and of course Jimmy's voice makes one want to listen to it over and over again.
If you get a chance check out these bands....The Lions, and The DevilDolls, two bands that I listen to a lot and follow on a regular basis.
The other tunes on your player are great. Thanxs for posting great artists.!!

This song was before they signed to Do the Dog which helps as it involves less paperwork on the rather tight deadline I have!
For the new tracks however, I will have plenty more time and really look forward to getting some awsome videos produced for them. This means I'll be keeping in contact (I may want to use the Dog logo to help promote the label and the CD)
Will let you know when this video is complete and up on my page!
