I love spending time with my family, bike rides, reading, sports, working with my shepherds, playing the piano, surfing the 'net, and traveling. I also love the theater and Broadway. I would be broke and homeless if I lived in NYC because my days would be spent viewing one Broadway show after another. Again, E. loves shopping. She also enjoys spending time with our daughter, teaching Sunday School, and doing crafts. Even though she won't admit it, she loves to surf the 'net too!
Music
Other than heavy metal, we like most types of music. We listen to everything from classical music to AC/DC. With a tween at home, we also spend a lot of time listening to the latest pop stars.
Movies
The Birdcage, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Chicago, Bound, Kingdom Come, *Not a movie (but I hope it is one someday) Wicked! Saw it on Broadway and fell in love with it./ .....E. likes just about any classic movie, such as The Preacher's Wife, Christmas in Connecticut, Vertigo, Rear Window and any James Bond movie, especially one starring Sean Connery, and her all-time favorite, Female on the Beach.
Television
To name a few....Cops, Without A Trace, Law and Order (especially SVU), The L Word, and CSI (I see a pattern here!)
Books
For me, anything by James Patterson, Sue Grafton, Lee Child, Corbin Harlan, Michael Connelly, and any other mystery / detective novel. E. loves romance novels. One book we both agreed on was Marley & Me. Even though it made us cry, we both loved it.
Heroes
My number 1 hero would have to be my mother. She taught me that I could be anything I wanted to be. Being female did not stop me from pursuing my dreams, whatever they may be. She also showed me, by example, how to be a strong, competent woman...and mother. Through her, I am teaching my daughter to be a strong, independent, competent woman. Mom, if you're loooking down here, Thanks for all you taught me!
Not much to tell, really. We've been together for over 17 years. I work for the police department and E. works for the ambulance service. We have an amazing daughter, two German shepherds, a miniature schnauzer, a fish, and we just recently added a Great Dane to our menagerie. I love anything to do with the outdoors, and E. loves anything to do with a shopping mall. After almost 20 years in law enforcement I've decided it's time to figure out what I should be when I grow up so I've returned to college. I'm attending USI in hopes of someday obtaining a degree in social work. I figure it's similar to what I already do, only without the foot pursuits and throw downs I have to contend with now. The calendar pages keep turning and I keep getting older and one of these days I'm not going to be able to sprint, wrestle, etc. Hopefully I'll have my degree in hand by then. If not, I guess I can whack them with my cane.
