Double Plow was born in 2007 when Jimmy James Norris (well known in blues, rock, and gospel circles around Indianapolis) moved to the dusty, desert town of Albuquerque to make music with his brother, Dwayne “Buzzard” Norris. They enlisted bassist Mike Montoya and drummer Mike Zamora. Together, these four artists have forged a Southern-fried jam band sound that has been labeled “gasoline rock” by some. Built on solid songwriting, danceable grooves, and guitar-thick licks, Double Plow has begun to see a good measure of success by marrying their interpretation of the hippy Southwest and the flowers of the Southeast- Delta blues and country/bluegrass. There is only one way to describe their sound: pure rock and roll.... no adjectives, hyphens or qualifiers needed.
