dou-ble-think (n.):
-Thought marked by the acceptance of gross contradictions and falsehoods, especially when used as a technique of self-indoctrination:
-"Doublethink... is a vast system of mental cheating" (George Orwell).
doublethink boasts an enormous rock n’ roll sound that is broad and powerful, with a classic hard rock vibe that is fresh enough to make waves among their musical counterparts and new fans alike. Effortlessly blending arena rock, pop, metal, and an alternative sound with sing-a-long, hook laden songwriting has helped make doublethink a notable force on the Northeast rock scene. Led by vocalist and lead guitarist Scott Brown, backed by Jeff Callahan on Drums, Johnny Kobierowski on Bass, and Eric Libby on Guitar, doublethink does not settle for anything less than huge.
With their latest EP Seeing Red released Valentines Day 2009, doublethink has come into their own as a band… with a bit of help and guidance from legendary rock producer Kevin "Caveman" Shirley (Aerosmith, Silverchair, Our Lady Peace). Recorded at The Document Room Studios in Malibu, California, Seeing Red finds the band capturing their live energy and honing their epic sound like never before.
The last few years have seen doublethink performing all over the Northeast, playing over 200+ shows… making numerous radio appearances… and sharing the stage with some notable acts like Collective Soul, Boy Hits Car, and Finger 11. The band is known for their kinetic live performance, and it’s only a matter a time before crowds everywhere embrace their energy and re-think their new favorite band.
"If frustrations were explosive, consider Doublethink nitroglycerin in a jar."
Bronx Time Reporter
"...doublethink is everything that rock music lacks today... "rock 'n roll" for this generation without destroying the legendary past."
Connecticut Post
"...one of the best bands Connecticut has to offer...doublethink impresses the hard-to-please... scott brown makes a riveting frontman, blessed with a natural charisma that makes it hard to take your eyes off of him."
Hartford Advocate
"...While the band's insistence on doing things their own way and not following the latest trends may make it harder to win over some of the more fickle fans in the short run, it definitely sets them up for a longer shelf life than some of their contemporaries who have jumped on the emo or pop-punk bandwagon."
hey I saw you guys in New Haven back when Steph was in the band... I moved to AZ and I'm excited to watch you in Tempe. You guys rock, I'm def recording the show, maybe do an interview after :P

“GAME OVER” for Cup & Saucer Café Current mood: melancholy Category: Life
We regret to announce the closing of Cup & Saucer Café after three and a half years in business. Call 513-544-7017 for information on buying the business. It was a good run for a mom & pop business, longer than many expected, especially considering that Marcy had a stroke just one month after we started. We had a lot of nice employees, customers, and entertainers but there were too many factors working against us. Maybe we’ll write a book about it when things calm down, but basically we had too many expenses, not enough income, and way too much stress. Health problems are the primary cause of failure of small business, and we had to bail out before it killed one or both of us. So everybody take care while we do the same. Some day we’ll get back to making Marcy Burgers, presenting great performers and taking photos of them. In the meantime keep in touch. We’d love for you to share your memories of Cup & Saucer and we’d also love to hear about your progress, especially if you got your start on our stage. Please leave comments on our page so everyone can share.
