Doug Harris is a powerful vocalist, insightful lyricist, versatile harmonica player, and nearly fearless frontman. Most recently, Doug worked with the Nashville guitarist Terry "Goose" Downing (Delicious Blues Stew; Harmonica Red;Miranda Louise) in The Downing-Harris Band, an area favorite in Knoxville and Maryville. Two years in a row Doug has been invited and performed in the Knoxville Blues all-stars jam. In 2004 Doug Harris and his long time friend and writing partner, Doug Sneed started the Monday night acoustic jam at Brackins Blues Bar in Maryville. He hosted the jam for nearly two years with Sneed and later Downing. In 2005 as the frontman for Blues Revolution, Doug was part of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis representing the Smoky Mountain Blues Society. He's had the honor of sitting in with many national touring groups including EC Scott, Larry Garner, Ben Prestage, Kenny Acosta,Duwayne Burnside,Motor City Josh, and Rockin' Jake.
This Friday night (9/4) the Kevin Abernathy Band will be playing our first show at Knoxville's newest venue, Level 10. Tickets are only $5.00 and the show starts at 9:00 PM.
