A five-man Lynyrd Skynyrd, a Slash-style Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, and our own-style Blues/Country.

”This band started like every great band started- out of a deep love for music. In a time when almost everything you hear is cookie cutter, manufactured music, this band is a much needed breath of fresh air! With a simple approach to song writing, they touch upon the everyday life of ordinary people, in a way that is reminescient of Tom Petty and Ronnie Van Zant. They have songs about the soul, songs about love, both found and lost, songs about finding peace, and songs about going out on saturday night. There truly is something for everybody in this band. People who love good lyrics will get their money's worth and for people who love good music, they won't find any better. With rythyms that will be playing in your head for days and guitar solos that range from the styles of Stevie Ray Vaughan to Mark Knopfler, this music never gets boring. To see them live is to instantly become a fan. They regularly play for 3 hours, with the energy only getting stronger the longer they play. Not since the days of old has there been this combination of musicianship, showmanship, and a true love for what they are doing, that radiates out and grabs you. Douglas Acres has shared the stage with Mark Wills, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Jeff Bates, Jason Brown, Trent Wilmon, Sarah Darling, Jaime Fox, Bob Pace, Days of the New and many more!!!

"... I have no idea who's steering, and I don't really care .. I just keep going whatever the inclination is ... there are threads that are continuous and hold everything together and a major thread is country music ..."

"It takes a lot of devotion and work, or maybe I should say
WOW! The CD Release Party was great! It was the first time I have seen you guys play. The show was awesome and the CD is excellent! Keep up the great work guys! You are incredibly talented and very entertaining!
I may even have to start listening to country on the radio again so I can call in and request some DA :-)
Wish I could come and see you all for the CD Release party! Unfortunately, I can't - no money and no sitter - the joy of being a trucker's wife LOL. I'm wishing you all the best and hopefully I can make it to another one of your parties in the future. You're the best!
This is it boys.... The day you all have been waiting for... Spread that 'D-A' CD around Des Moines this weekend Then get it the hell out there... Way out there... Just remember... To go up.... You have to get out....
Bring that 'D-A' Thunder down hard on Sat. You know we all love it... It's a big night for you all... Best of luck and see you all on Sat. Night....
Here are some words of advice to ponder...
"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench,
a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free,
and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."
So August 14th, 2010 in Adel for the sweet corn fest huh? sounds good, but I have a feeling that you boys will be touring somewhere else in North America by then... It would be nice if you don't forget us and come back to central Iowa once and awhile but we will have to see... I hope that you are too busy by then...
