Douglas E Powell's own take on folk and Americana has earned him great respect from fans of his music all over the world.
Choosing to play solely with acoustic guitar and harmonica, Douglas tips his hat to his musical heroes Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Burt Jansch.
His live performances are intensely charged with deeply personal lyrics over gritty and beautifully simplistic guitar work.

Hello, we're back again with great new tracks on our page. This month we have some rural bleakness from The Roe Family Singers, the dark intensity of Eamon Dowd, a new song from roots legend Neal Casal and frenetic but compelling from Novillero on the delightfulyl titled but not-at-all-smelly Paco Rabanne. Hope you like them all.
Hello and a Happy New Year to you. An eclectic bunch of songs new to the site this month. The frankly uncategorisable Icelandic band Storsveut Nix Noltes, the sardonic lyics (plus ukelele) of Dent May. some dark folk from The Deep Dark Woods and emerging US singer-songrwiter Israel Nash. Hope you like them all.
I had a really good time, and enjoyed both of your sets. Make sure you get Neil to let me know in advance next time you're coming up, so I can perhaps get in on some drinking action with you all the night before the gig. Mmmm. The Plough.
oh and I like your music too. You have a very sweet voice. I shall hafta come see you play next time I'm in Devon land. Which probably won't be too long arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes xx
Douglas, "The Iron Coast" is a brilliant work. Opening with the wonderful, atmospheric, "Fairbanks City Transit System" was a perfect choice. Bravo for the entire work!
