Playing guitar since the age of 12, Doug Martin continues to perform throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and abroad.
Among others, he has performed with Lulo Reinhardt, Mike Reinhardt, Paul Mehling, Ned Boynton and Cafe Americain as well as Mimi Fox and Howard Alden to name a few.
Doug Martin developed the roots of his style studying improvisation and music theory with Bay Area guitarist/producer Allen J Brown, classical guitar with Charles Ferguson, jazz guitar and music theory with Warren Nunes and harmony, musicianship, arranging and improvisation with Bay Area pianist and educator Charles "Gus" Gustavson.
Currently splitting his time performing throughout the year in San Francisco and Shanghai, China, Doug also tours at various times in Europe and elsewhere with gypsy guitarist Lulo Reinhardt in the Lulo Reinhardt Latin Swing Project.
