Doug Parsley is a guitarist and vocalist from south-central Ohio. He has played in numerous area bands since 1972, including Night Shift, Flashback, The Detours, The Real Estate, NEXT BEST THING, and the progressive rock group MINDCHASER. Doug has collaborated with singer-songwriter Paul Waltz in the studio as well as in performance (as THE NOSE BROs). He has also performed with folk artist Steve Free from time to time, contributing lead guitar to Steve's "Rivers, Rails and Tales" CD. Doug even did a turn as bass player with the notoriously original band Mothman. He occasionally fills in with other area artists as well.
Over the years, he has had the pleasure of opening shows for national artists such as Conway Twitty, Kentucky Headhunters, George Jones, Jerry Reed, Bobby Bare, Loverboy, Steppenwolf, and most recently Mark Farner (formerly of Grand Funk Railroad).
Doug works as a computer technician at Shawnee State University, where he also serves as adjunct faculty in the Music Department. He and his wife live in Portsmouth with their cats.
