Really, so much music. I may not sound much like every single one of those artists but each and every one inspires me and makes me want to grow as a musician every time I listen.
"Doug Robinson offers Piano-driven rock from the soul. His sound carries with it traces of R&B, Soul with a dash of Pop Rock. Keep your eyes and ears out for this up and coming band."

"I write what comes naturally to me; love, pain, happiness; They're all very important parts of a relationship. They have all played a part in my own life. Every time someone tells me that they can relate to what I write, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I love that connection." -Doug Robinson
Continually praised for his soul filled vocals and his eclectic approach to songwriting, Doug Robinson, a 24 year old Chicago based singer/songwriter, brings to the table a fresh blend of piano based melodies and introspective lyrics. In his most recent release, the Chain of Events EP, Doug enlisted some great Chicago musicians to help him record the 6 song EP. The Chain of Events EP shows the many colors of Doug Robinson’s songwriting. And the title portrays exactly what the songs are: a chain of everyday events. The thoughts and feelings from these songs are experienced by all of us in one way or another, at some point in our lives. They play their own intricate roles in who we are and who we become.
From the beginning to the end of the EP, Doug Robinson takes us on a trip through many of life’s encounters. Tracks from the EP include the title track, “Chain of Events,” a song about loving someone so much that you don’t want to be away from there heart felt embrace, "Your Love," a fervent tale of the dangers attributed to giving up your heart, "Asleep," a song about coping with the end of a relationship, “Lying Eyes,” a song about being hurt by someone you love and finding ways to learn from the experience, “Tell Me Why,” a soulful ballad in which Doug expresses how amazing true love really is in his eyes and how lucky he is to experience it first hand and "Perfect," a ballad expressing the brighter side of love. These stories, conveyed through his sincere, introspective and even ardent lyrics are no stranger to the naked ear, for we've all gone through similar situations at one time or another and have become stronger because of them.
2008 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Doug. He is ready to prove in 2008 to both his fans, and the music industry as a whole that with a strong work ethic, dedication to songwriting and a lifelong passion for music anything is possible. He currently resides in Chicago and is writing his follow up to the Chain of Events EP. Look for Doug this spring as he spreads into new markets beyond Chicago and the Midwest.
