I first liked music when I heard/saw The Monkees on TV way back when. The first album I bought was Elton John's "Madman Across the Water". I've been playing drums since 4th grade concert band. My parents bought me my first set a year or so later.
My early inspirations for drumming came from listening to Rush (Neil Peart). I also liked Led Zeppelin (John Bonham), and The Police (Stewart Copeland).
My musical influences change all the time. My favorite song could be "Something's Always Wrong", by Toad the Wet Sprocket one week and "Away From Me", by Puddle of Mudd the next. That's what I like about Amanda Overboard. We play rock, country, and pop. And we're always learning new songs, so it doesn't get redundant.
In April of 2007, I traveled to Michigan to record Bobby Pennock's original CD, "10,000 Stories" in 3 days! Actually, it was 3 eight-hour days, or one full-day, however you look at it, the studio -time for me was very limited... In May 2008, "10,000 Stories" is finally released! I must say, it was worth the wait! Bobby and crew did a great job in finishing this record...BTW, I'll always have a couple of tunes from this CD on my iPod over there, but you really should make the plunge and just buy 1 (or 2) copies for yourself!
