With the exception of "That Old Martin Guitar," which was written by Ed Gowens and originally recorded by Donna Ray, all of the songs on my player are my own original work. ..All rights reserved

Born and brought up on the Kent coast I started singing almost as soon as I could talk. I developed a love for country music in my teens, getting my first guitar at the age of 16. My early influences were the old-time greats - Hank Williams and Jimmie Rodgers - and my repertoire contains many of their songs

I started singing in public in a pub in S.E. London in the mid 1960s before going on to be a resident artist at the Dover folk club at the age of 19. In the early 1970s I headed up a trio called "The Reapers," playing in pubs, clubs and hotels around East Kent, but my regular "haunt" has always been the Carpenter's Arms in Coldred

I started writing my own material in 2008, when I was given the chance by a lyric writer in Florida (Robbie Smith) to set one of her songs to music. Since then I have written and recorded a number of songs as well as a second collaboration with Robbie

In June 2009 I had the great pleasure of performing at an open mic session in Georgetown, Texas - my first ever public performance in the USA. In July 2010 I was privileged to sing a song on the stage of the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and to do a spot at a writers' night at the Nasville Palace. I also got to do an impromptu show at the historic Virginian Hotel in Medicine Bow, Wyoming. I look forward to returning there and playing more venues in the USA on one of my future trips.
