Los grandes relatos de salvación de la modernidad han muerto en la postmodernidad. Así que podríamos decir que Dios ha muerto, pero este vacío trascendente de Dios fue reemplazado por la nueva Providencia que mencioné hace rato, que es la Providencia del mercado. Es el mercado el que se presenta como un nuevo dios: potencia, omnipotencia; podría hacer todo, regular todo. Así que estamos ante una especie de nuevo dios. El problema es que este nuevo dios no cumple sus promesas.
