Down2 Five was formed in the later part of 2006. Originally, members Joel Williams (Black Oak Arkansas, Ricky Nelson, Ruby Starr, Target, Larry Raspberry and the Highsteppers), Josh Haynes (Pulse-Tribute to Pink Floyd, The Originals, Larry Raspberry) , Steve Spear (Horizon, The Gentrys, Larry Raspberry and the Highsteppers, Tony Joe White, The Memphis Horns, The Radiants, Rufus Thomas) and Mike Russell (Pulse-Tribute to Pink Floyd, Reba Russell and the Portables, The Midnighters ,Bluebird, Companion) served as the back-up band for country artist Kitty Jerry, as well as Larry Raspberry and Jimi Jamison (formerly of Survivor). They decided to form their own band with Pulse-Tribute to Pink Floyd's lead singer, Ron Herron (Jerricho, Dakota, Carl Perkins). There is no doubt that a lot of Down2 Five's influence is mostly of the "British Invasion" era. They do songs ranging from bands such as Deep Purple, The Beatles, Emerson Lake and Palmer, The Zombies, Spencer Davis Group, The Moody Blues, Mike and the Mechanics, Pink Floyd, etc.
