Jumprie
The band formed on December 26, 2002, as Aneurysm with Kevin “Karl Malone” Logsdon on guitar, Nik “Whoppa” Kollmann on bass, and Brendan “Ray” Sink on drums (we like to name things). The early days started out with us covering grunge music and writing instrumentals and joke songs based on inside jokes within the band. As time passed, we experimented trying to find a sound that fits us. We went through several temporary singers: Ronald “Ever’day” MUNroe (lol), Josh “Barnaby” Rooks, Jared Wakefield, and Jeremy. Band names during the early years included: Aneurysm, Kraken, Collateral, and Catalyst. The Downcast we all know today formed in October 2005 with the addition of permanent vocalist, Josh “Bosh” Buchfink, and second guitarist Robert “Moosey” Biggs. Soon after, we started getting more and bigger shows. We also laid down our first 3-song demo, which got us into the Tulsa World Satellite Battle of the Bands. As far as our style goes, it is still undefined and is about as diverse as the weather on the Oklahoma plains. But no matter what, it still rocks.
